Isn't the five game gift limit copies of the same game?
(It's not clear from Gnostic's post whether he is purchasing 6 different games or the same game 6 times)
And it's supposed to last for 24 hours so if it wouldn't and then did work within the space of a day I doubt it's that...

Oh it is all different games, maybe 1 overlap with games I buy for myself, but definitely not the same game 6 times.
Ok wait about 1 hour before trying again and succeed in purchasing System Shock as Gift.

I guess I have to do that for my future purchase,
nvm

Gnostic: I don't know if that is the problems of the cookies, because I do a series of purchase as fast as I can.
And maybe that is the problem here?

You should give the involved parties a little more time, to process your purchases?

Some computer / program somewhere in the line between your bank and GOG's bank may "think" something is wrong, when you try to purchase a lot of different products from the same vendor in a very short timespan?

I'm assuming it is a bank card (since you're checking with your bank) and not a CC? If it is a CC it won't matter checking with your bank, it could just be an automatic function of the CC company because of the multi-purchases.

Firek: Sorry about not replying to your original ticket - I've just sent you a reply to your new ticket, with some information about your current predicament.

As for the purchase limit - there are some speed limits set on our payment processor's end, but on our end we're only limiting gifting. These were not the cause of your payment problems, which we are investigating to the best of our ability.
Unfortunately we haven't been able to recreate the problem yet, as it appears to be randomly occurring. Clearing your cache and cookies - as well as making sure that you aren't running any software that might be modifying the cookie files - might help. I apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Gnostic: I don't know if that is the problems of the cookies, because I do a series of purchase as fast as I can. If there are problems with my cookies I would not be able to buy the first few games purchase. But I do not know well enough to be sure.

For instance this morning I buy Starpoint Gemini and its DLC and succeed
Immediately after I try to buy 5 games as a gift and succeed
Immediately after I try to buy another 5 games as a gift and succeed
Immediately after I try to buy another 6 games as a gift but failed.

Not long ago I see System Shock is available and recommended by JudasIscariot.
So I try buying it and succeed.
Immediately after I try to buy the 6 gift that failed earlier and succeed.
Immediately after I try to buy the second copy of System Shock but failed.

So I wonder if it is the gift purchase limit as mention as Grargar, because my problem happens when I am trying to buy gifts.
This to me sounds like fraud prevention on either the processors part or possibly the cards issuer.

Possibly if you wait a bit between purchases, the issue won't happen.
Maybe the problem is computer or internet that everything is going too fast for them? Did you try to wait a minute before completing the deal?
I couldn't use my credit card during the Pinata sale which is the first time that's ever happened here to me, so maybe it is a related issue. I bought Shadowrun and Apotheon a few days ago when they were discounted and the credit card worked just fine.

I doubt it's a speed issue. It could be something else, but to me it sounds like the processors computer sees a lot of charges in a short amount of time so the charge got flagged/declined.

Had a similar thing when I was using a CC during the Summer Sale. In this case I think it was because I was making a bunch of different purchases during the day, but Citibank flagged one of the charges as declined until I verified it was me that made the purchase.

Used to do support for a CC processor and one thing that it would do is automatically decline a second purchase if it was the same amount in the same batch (usually same day). You could turn it off, but it was mostly put in place so the retailers software didn't accidentally double charge the customer (which wasn't unheard of by the crappy POS software I also had to support). But it was bothersome for some since the customer might want to do separate transactions that had the same amount (buy two of the same item for instance). First one would go through, second one would get declined as an AP DUP. What some would do is just lower the amount of the second item by a penny.

Heck, it's possible GOGs processor does the same thing. Did the declined charge happen to have the same amount as a previous purchase?

Well on 29 Aug I had this problem, I wait for a whole day and try again on 30 Aug but failed. After about 3 days I try again and succeed.

I did a lot of continuous purchase past sale and that did not happen. So much that my bank think it is a fraud and blocked me. I had to phone to them to clear the blockage.

But this time round I phone my bank and they say there are no blockage.

I use a debit card which function as a master card. Admittedly I don't know enough of the bank process to be sure.

On 29 Aug I waited for the next day and no luck. Then a few days later it clear up by itself.

Barring GoG and Bank internal problem. The only difference is I switch from firefox to palemoon. So maybe the next time I face this problem I would try to switch back to firefox again.
