I haven't actively played a Battlefield game since Bad Company II: Vietnam and that was on console (PS3) where there was no online subscriptions.

I saw Battlefield V was on sale -- and I'm an avid watcher, player, and reader of anything WWII -- so I checked it out... and it looked like in order to play online you have to not only purchase the game but also purchase a monthly subscription.

Am I reading this correctly?

If I am, this may be the nail in the coffin for me playing any and all MP games.

Many thanks in advance for word from anyone who knows the situation!

No, you can subscribe and play the game , or just buy the game.
The campaign is ahistorical so only buy it if that is ok or you play for the multi.Imho first just get a month subs and try out the game at least with that you can try out other games.

Ah, ok... that subscription must be Origin Access.

Many thanks for your reply.
