At least, I'm glad I ended up my Dr Who marathon on netflix only two weeks ago (haven't seen last TV season yet)
lol BBC trying to get into entertainment. Their massive prior experience will be useful.

i have them all on dvd bar series 8 and 9

classic who is still an ongoing battle
Well, he does travel in time, so maybe he is there, just not now, or was that - wasn't there ever at least for 5 minutes. Maybe the cybermen have finally come out of the closet and admitted they own Google, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft etc. and we are now just their bitches for some hot robo-action - that would make a for different DW episode.

Out of interest how is Peter Capaldi at it? Shame they didn't go with his Thick of It persona.

Whilst I am not the biggest fan of the BBC, yes they do have a bit of experience, being the oldest national broadcaster in the world, and having 93 years experience. Although, if you prefer selling your soul to some giant US corporate to stream stuff, feel free.
I really enjoyed the last season, with the exception of two episodes, it was pretty great, reminded me of how good it all started. But the last three seasons before that were... less than mediocre. Downright awful, some of the episodes were. And the previous Doctor, oh don't let me get started on THAT dick.

i thought they got more then enough moolah from their sweet sweet merchandising
dunno how i feel about a streaming service from them

or more to the point
yet another damn log in
and will they actually bring a decent selection outside the uk ?

bbc first is rather dire
I'm still slowly going through series 7, so for me it's not a huge deal that 10 is being postponed. I can understand why it would be annoying to those who aren't watching as slowly as I am.

Who wasn't here on Netflix anyway, so IMO if the BBC starts a streaming service which makes all its programming available anywhere, that would be better than Netflix's "sort of service". I was happy to see Netflix arrive before I found out how little stuff there is on it.

You've got much sense in that statement. Point acknowledged.

Ah! I wish you some happy viewing because after the Matt Smith era which I found very cringing (only watched because Karen Gillan totally looks like my first girlfriend from 20 years ago) and excruciating to watch (didn't like the arch-plot and his persona).

Capaldi is great in his role as he has this inherent "father figure" while his know-it-all attitude is regularly challenged through the whole season.

Never really bother with BBC outside UK, even when I am off for work, I login and get adverts all over it. So I can agree that the international BBC isn't great. Internally however we get endless greats such as cooking programs, celebrity xyz, and dance shows [/sarcasm]. To be fair though, there have been a few good series recently, Jonathon Strange and Mr Norell, for instance.

You're not the only one who got lost by this season :o)

Season 8 gets back to a more "episodic" approach story-wise
