PapaShango: Too many to count actually but since a lot have already been mentioned by the others. The ones that come to mind are..
2. Space Above & Beyond
Really? That was the first series I thought of when earlier in the thread I wrote "too many shows turn into soap operas with filler episodes that don't drive the plot forward." 2. Space Above & Beyond
The first episode was very good, but then it turned into yet another series with loosely connected episodes, with the interesting backstory story taking second seat. It was the very series that convinced me never to invest time and energy in an ongoing drama series again.

I knew I was forgetting something, loved that series too.

Didn't bother me much since some of the episodes were memorable with one of them being the 'chig' ace pilot that pretty much kicked everyone's ass and has the words 'Abandon all hope' written on it's craft. The only thing that annoyed me was the way the series was cancelled. Of all the shocking stuff that happened, you pick now for the series to be cancelled. Kinda pissed me off just like the pretender series. The first episode was very good, but then it turned into yet another series with loosely connected episodes, with the interesting backstory story taking second seat.
