I don't watch tv any more. Anything that sounds good I just wait until it's out on dvd when I can watch it on my own time and without commercials. That sounds like what a snobby hipster might say, but for me it's a sad truth and realization. I would love to have things worth wasting my brain on, but it all sucks, or it starts out good and then proceeds to start sucking.

But then again, I was raised watching A-team, 80s pro wrestling, and Miami Vice, so my measuring stick might be broken.
OK, here're my fav-lists.

Already watched:
- Firefly
- Inspector Morse
- The Mrs Bradley Mysteries
- Foyle's War
- Penny Dreadful
- The 10th Kingdom
And many animes...

Ongoings:
- Lewis
- Endeavour
- Midsomer Murders
- Grimm
- Once Upon a Time

Tizzysawr: I hate game of thrones. [..] I've read the books
Well, then it's a pity that you have already read the books, because the series is great! (fingers crossed for the future).

Tizzysawr: As for TV series, I absolutely love House of Cards.
I like it too; it's almost GoT in modern days XD

Tizzysawr: Teen Wolf. Yeah, don't look at me that way :P
O_o
Well, not a big TV watcher, but I have watched all Buffy and Angel - pretty good. Also watched first season of Gotham, and enjoyed that. Black Sails season one have watched a few episodes, struggling with it to be honest. Mr Strange and Dr Norrel was ok.

lukaszthegreat: I like tv series more than movies.
I'm the other way around because I feel too many TV series are kind of aimless, with no real direction. They just keep inventing new stuff on the fly and prolonging the story. This isn't a real issue for TV series where every episode is pretty much self-contained with its own story and there is merely a weak, if any, connection between the episodes (House, CSI, Knight Rider, whatever), but I mean TV series which are supposed to have some real direction (Lost, Under the Dome, The Walking Dead, what have you...).

Anyway, I feel I have too little time to watch TV series. I don't watch much more on TV nowadays but news (just to get a quick summary what has happened during the day, even if news can be obtained online as well), and if some movie seems interesting and I haven't seen it yet.

I feel kinda guilty if I am wasting my free time watching TV, instead of playing some PC games I've meant to play for a long time. :D Sometimes I do both at the same time, playing something on my laptop on the couch, and occasionally checking if whatever is going on TV looks interesting. If the TV program seems so interesting that I need to concentrate on it, then stop playing for the time being.

Oh, Fargo's first season was pretty interesting though. Not sure if they have shown any later season(s) here.

Tizzysawr: I have never watched a single episode of the series, and I hear it's quite good. But I've read the books, or at least two and a half of them. They're the most sickly overwritten, poorly edited pieces of shit I've ever read. There's a great storyline in them, but I don't need to read 10 pages of people drinking in a canteen where none of them will be important and they're being introduced just because the author felt he needed filler. There's too much padding, and the fact that some people think the books are great just because they are over 1000 pages each shows you how little your average GoT fan actually knows about good writing.
I think you'd like the show. It's more compact, and the focus is kept on the main characters. The number of side characters has also been drastically cut down.
There aren't many TV shows that I really enjoy (not enough to bother paying for anything like Netflix or Amazon Prime) but here are some I like:

Stargate SG1
Stargate Atlantis
Doctor Who
Warehouse 13
Big Bang Theory

Watched a couple of episodes of Agents of Shield and that looks quite interesting so may try and watch it from the start.
I can't stand unnecessary sex scenes and for that reason find a lot of modern tv shows unwatchable...
Wanted to watch the BBCs The Last Kingdom series but it was the same... :/
Hmmm, not really sure. I mean, i do like them but i prefer spending my time on other activities right now rather than watching TV series. That being said, i watched:

- X-Files
- Hercules
- Xena
- Friends (more than once)

...and that's it as far as i remember. I did watch some episodes of Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Game of Thrones, Two & Half Men (i prefer Sheen as i dislike the other actor who i can't remember his name right now), Big Bang Theory (funny geek characters) etc. but i haven't seen the ending of any of them (yet).
I love movies and I love tv shows. Star Trek (all of them), Babylon 5, Robin of Sherwood, The Prisoner, Blake's 7, The X-Files, Firefly, Miami Vice, Total Recall 2077, Doctor Who... and many others.

I think TV shows now are not nearly as good as they were back in last century, but there is still a few I enjoy:
-Gotham, which despite it's flaws and sometimes outright stupidity is always entertaining and very well cast
-Ash vs Evil Dead- hands down the best thing to happen on tv in years, it's a fantastic comeback for the franchise, and Bruce Campbell knocks it out of the park in every episode.
-Doctor Who- well... sort of. The last two season were very bad, and I'm not sure if I'll keep watching it. But it used to be very good, and hopefully will be again when a new showrunner comes along
-Vikings- again, it started out great, and got really stupid by the end of last season, but I'm giving it one more chance.
I have just watched the first episode of Daredevil, i had read about good reviews, i did not like it.
Anyway in general i do not like movies and series with superheroes.
I talked to someone today who doesn't have a TV. Kind of freaked me out. :P

I don't have a TV. Well I do have a TV but I only use it for my console, nothing else. I don't even have a TV-antenna cable or anything.

Seriously though, it's common to not have a TV today.

I had a TV but an evil ladder broke it.
YES! Does that answer your question?

But yeah, I watch quite a bit. Right now I'm actually going through Star Trek: The Original Series.

The how do you watch Twin Peaks, X-files, Fringe, Eureka, and Warehouse 13?
