Regarding game composers, these are the ones I enjoy from the top of my head. No particular order.

- Chris Hülsbeck
- Nobuo Uematsu
- Koji Kondo
- Shōji Meguro
- Danny Baranowsky
- Jeremy Soule
Lena Raine composed the music to Celeste. Here's a link to her recent album. Most recommended.

And then there is, as always, Still Alive by Jonathan Coulton.

Awesome choices!

Truthfully if I'm making a top 5 then I'd have no choice but to swap out at least James Newton Howard for Hans Zimmer because of the Pirate of the Caribbean and Gladiator soundtracks.

But then I'd be stuck with a top6 because one way or another Ennio Morricone would have to be on the list, on the merit of this classic alone :)

Matt Uelmen composed for Diablo 1&2 if that's what you mean.

As for my list hmm i will restrict it to gaming so Mark Morgan (Fallout 1,2 and Planescape Torment among other things), Kai Rosenkranz of Gothic Series and Risen 1, Alexander Brandon for (Deus Ex 1 and Mask of the Betrayer Expac) and lastly the composers of Stalker series and Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines respectively Alexey Omelchuk and Rik Schaffer but i hesitate to put them on the list because they haven't many credits in games but they are a large part why both of these games has such amazing atmospheres.

I don't have any favourite game music composers, but i love the work Soule did in TES, Morgan in Fallout, Pokrovsky in Divinity and the guys who wrote the soundtracks to Diablo II & Anno 1404.
Tetsukazu Nakanishi, Nobuo Uematsu, Ben Prunty, Michiel van den Bos. Just to name a few of my favs.
Trent Reznor ftw

Well if we're going there, David Bowie and Iron Maiden.

Why not. Though I really love the Quake OST and sometimes use it in PnP RPG.
Hans Zimmer

Michiru Yamane

That's the top of my list.
