blotunga: What is evil?
Evil is good.
And remember.
All it takes for Evil to win, is for Good People to do nothing ... ignoring what it does.

The one and only reply in this thread that i consider intelligent.
Yes what you say is so true, Timboli, and yet somehow it seems so off-topic in this thread....isnt this frightening?

Evil?
there's no such thing and no such power. This mythical entity only known to religious people who created it. only religious people can "see" it.
I'm not the one of them, I can't fight something I can't see :)

Quite ironic, going by your conversation in another thread. LOL

I don't recall dragging religious statements into my other conversation.
My answer is no.

My stance toward them is neutral and defensive. I will not hate them for anything. As long as they don't attack me and what's mine, I will not attack or even hurt them. Why? Because hate is a poison to your mind, and someone that attack first will always be the bad guy, no matter what.
I hate self-inflicted stupidity and ignorance more. Sadly those often go hand in hand with an obnoxious we-are-the-good-guys, holier-than-thou attitude.

Religion is not the irony I was referring to.

Why do you always misread what I write and try to put words I never said into my mouth?

You need to expand the way you look at and read things ... there are other interpretations ... pretty obvious ones I would have thought, unless you are interpreting through a bias.

i.e. China is the big evil you want GOG to stand against, show no fear of ... nothing to do with religion.

If you think evil is only known to religious people and that they created it...you should get professional help asap.
You see no evil...do you recognize yourself in this photo?

and what it has to do with the religion? doing the right thing is not an religious asset. one does not has to be religious to have integrity. unless you can't tell good from bad then you need a Bible to guide you.

why me? you need that professional help more than myself. there's no evil, there is no gods or super powers. only humans with their illusions and beliefs. humans are source of bad and good things. if you see only black and white picture and insist there is an evil lurking somewhere you better schedule a meeting with someone who can help you see more detailed picture

Green_Hilltop: Poll.: Yes or No
The dichotomy between good and evil isn't always black and white. Also, hate is irrational as it hurts you and affects your mindscape first. That's how the lich king was created.

Oh sorry, my bad, i thought that you were actually using the terms and words correctly. When you say evil, you actually mean the "mythical entity"...which goes by the name of devil not evil. They are two different notions, and using the words interchangeably leads to your own confusion, and to others.

Any super abstract concept such as virtue and evil has nothing to do with a defineable element such as water though. The difference lies in how these things are defined.

To only view these things from a very shallow perspective lets that even if water has a fixed concept, yet some may think of an ocean while others think of a cup of water. So several iterations above, every recognition of what virtue and evil and its perception means that your viewpoint and mine always must lie within the eye of the beholder. There can never be a consensous of what evil objectively means. Basically, thats the very basic reason why people also like villians in fiction even though their visions are evil, at least compared to the good guys.

The term hate itself also extremly abstract but not as complicated as the aforementioned concepts. For some people, even some perceptions of love do relate to hate itself believe it or not.
