zeogold: ...pretty sure that's just conspiracy theory stuff that the creators didn't intend. The gore and the strippers, however, you can't exactly write off as coincidental.
NessAndSonic: Actually, there are some observations I've made. Mario does punch Yoshi in Super Mario World, I happen to have an old cartridge around and saw it before watching that video. Whether or not it was intended doesn't matter to groups like PETA.
Um...don't you kick a horse in the side to get it going? With sharp spurs? I'm guessing it's somewhat akin to that, but in an arguably LESS violent sense.
NessAndSonic: If you want to skip that, let's move on to Pokemon. The very nature of it is animal cruelty. Remember Michael Vick, the guy who got into trouble illegal dog fighting? Pokemon is similar to that in nature, you just don't see the blood and gore of the battles, though. No dead animals in forests from battles that trainers fought to strengthen their Pokemon or anything like that.
To be perfectly honest, I've never actually played Pokemon, but I don't think the Pokemon ever bleed/get killed, they just "faint". It was intended as a kids' RPG, and as such, was basically just that: An RPG with less of the blood, gore, intense violence, and strategy, so that kids could play it.
