blotunga: I have no idea, i was playing Duke Nukem 3d when i was 13. And i turned out quite ok imho. If i'll have children i will decide what they'll play, not some game rating agency and they will play probably almost everything.

mechmouse: Shake it baby... did duke use vulgar language?
"Blow it out your ass!"

"Eat shit and die."

"I'll rip your head off and shit down your neck."

A little bit.

Charon121: The obscenity isn't the problem here, but the fact that a consumer got a fake product instead of a real one that costs quite a bit of cash. Reputable stores should be more careful...
Exactly.

Definately not the kind of language you'd get on Childrens TV.

Anyone know what four letter words Drake uses?
I'm guessing Tomb Raid and Er, would not be in there.

"Your ass, your face, what's the difference?"

My favorite.

Also at the end of Duke it out in DC you hear him having sex.

That happens at the end of the original campaign, as well.

Unless you're watching the German dub of "Flint the Time Detective". Shockingly frequent use of profanities in what is essentially a pretty harmless show.

mechmouse: This is an example of tragic misunderstanding of what computer games are

http://www.myfoxboston.com/news/family-opens-fake-wooden-ps4-christmas-morning/11895368

Uncharted is pegi 16 for violence and offensive language
Yet the parents are upset the the kid saw a badly drawn penis and the word cock, but happy for him to watch people get shot while a greater range of saliors parlance is banded around.

Even better, the kid gets the block of wood replaced with Black Ops 3 version and Uncharted.
I thought it was T for Teen here. Anyway, I feel sorry for the kid as its uncool. I wonder what people on the U.S. Playstation community forums would say.
UPDATE:

It turns out it wasn't just a piece of wood. Upon further examination the object was discovered to open up. Inside were several hundred very thin white sheets with words printed on them.

The parents have since filed a suit against Target for 'Child Endangerment'.

No, but I just watched the opening; its quite catchy, meaning its in my head now. >.< ^^
Are you happy now ? xD
I have no idea, it's usually the American media who's reporting this kind of things. When I read something like this the first thing that it comes in my mind is "fake news".

You should watch it! Alfred is such a nice guy, he calls his son-in-law: "Du Arschloch!". :-)

I choose what games my children play based on their maturity not their age.

But games are vastly different between the mortal kombat I played at 13 and the game my 15 year old daughter plays.
avatar
blotunga: Well Duke had strippers and lots of gore. Oh don't remind me of Mortal Kombat fatalities. Or Strip Poker... of course you have to choose the games based on the child's maturity, that was my point really.
...this explains a lot about you guys, really.
