As for who I'd want to be....there's too many interesting games in the past that I'm not yet aware of and too many interesting games still to come that I can't even imagine yet. I'd want to be able to be any videogame character, aspect, force, facet, paradigm, whatever, and so on, whenever I want. Stop when I want. Continue when I want. Save, load, cheatcodes, etc. That'd be rather fun. :)

I don't know, I think I'd like to be the guy in the Harvest Moon games, or Stardew Valley. Just a simple guy taking care of his farm, chatting with townsfolk. Not much stress :)

Regarding video game character that's a tough one - for the sake for choosing one which was not picked yet I guess i would go for Adam Jensen - i mean them augs are kinda amazing but it's not like being a god/immortal (wouldn't like that) and well i really like the environment setting he is living in despite all the "darkness" but still seems like interesting times. Also like that he ain't a classical "hero" but sometimes really is just a cynic and is totally aware that he can't stop some of the bigger plays/changes which are happening around him and hence only can/tries to adapt and influence what's happening on the small scale.

As for what character I would like to be, I'd choose Corvo from Dishonored; the guy lives in a great city, full of corruption, has access to all the great gadgets and is ready to serve revenge. What's not to like? :)

Only a few people picked up on the subtle difference of "would be" and "would like to be". I don't know if you meant the latter, so I'll go with the technically correct one first: I'd probably be a minor NPC in some RPG. One of those who flee after gun-toting psychos who think the world revolves around them (never mind that in RPGs they'd be right) have started shooting. But, on the fantasy wish fulfillment front, I'd go with JC Denton (Deus Ex). Nanoaugs are going to rock. Or kill us all. While rocking.

Many characters come to my mind, mainly from the countless Star Wars games. (Kyle Katarn probably) I think I'll go with someone different though: The nameless hero from the Gothic games (from 1 and 2 to be precise since I have played these the most). Just a regular guy, who's trying to get out of the prison colony and meeting several interesting characters on his journey. With the story these games have and the world it has, I have to go with him. At least right now, in this moment. Might be a SW char next time. :D
