This guy actually has the courtesy to make his own threads solely for discussing the subject rather than taking every available opportunity to derail a thread on it and then refusing to heed the requests of a large majority of the community to stop because he "doesn't *actually* respect" them, so I'm perfectly fine with it.

Meh. Personally, I have no problem with storms in their place. If I don't want in, I just avoid the thread, not that hard since I don't have to see anything in it unless I actually go and click on it. It's doing it in an unrelated thread that I have a problem with, because then you're forced to slog through the crap just to carry on the conversation you were having before. Fair point. I've come to the realization recently that my attempts simply aren't working, and I'll try to quit.
