A real shame they got removed. It's a relief I had managed to nab them. What's particularly worrying is that I'm not certain they'll come back, but then, GOG did manage to secure them in the first place, so who knows.

I will say, if the reason really is related to the recent live action adaptations, I find it strange that the Jungle Book never suffered the same fate.
they'll need to remake the lion king again for people growing up in 2020 and 2021.
I saw a few clips of the Aladdin remake and found it utterly awful, looked like some low-budget bollywood film (someone forgot to tell the filmmakers that Aladdin is about Arabs not Indians?)

And again in 2050 when all human language has been merged and everyone communicates purely in emojis.

Don't count on it. Alts will demolish the horror of a one centralised "merging" of everybody and everything.

1. Yeah it was pretty bad, despite Will's attempt to save it.

2. You joke but the elite want a one world merging of all peoples into one giant "state" most likely. It's be easier to control/monitor everyone then.
Ouch. I've missed it :-(.
I guess that's what I get for waiting for "proper" discount.
I still hope that they'll be back at some point.
Boy this saddens me. I just saw the movie today, and all it made me want to do was buy this game. Especially since I never had the chance to play the other version of Aladdin. Love the Super NES one, never had the chance to play the Genesis/DOS version. :(

Here, I was waiting for it to go on sale too, and had it on my wishlist.

Damn it. I've just noticed that The Lion King and Aladdin were removed from gog. I was fortunate enough to grab The Lion King a while back but missed on Aladdin... What a shame...

I really wish that gog would inform us if a game was about to be taken down.

They did...hence this thread.

Exactly. The irony of posting that "they should warn us" in a thread that warns us...

To be fair a thread in the forum isn't much of a warning, really. Not everyone hangs around the forum all the time, checking all the threads for important news. Although everyone kind of should, since GOG has a nasty habit of making even very important announcements this way.

Not very important, and what, you want them to broadcast via email to every customer? They don't want to advertise things like this for good reason. Why would they? That they give us a forum thread is more than anyone else, and better than they have to.

To get everyone who was putting buying it off for some future sale to buy it now "while supplies last"? Profit for them and less disappointment for their customers.

As a customer you should demand "as good as they can" not "better than they have to".

Look, I'm not angry about this or anything, I'm jsut saying that Lebesgue's post wasn't as nonsensical as you're trying to make it out to be. He wishes GOG would do better at informing us about game removals than a simple forum thread. You don't agree. Fine. But it's not an absurd or impossible wish, so there's no need to ridicule the guy.

True...also it could be worse: GOG could release announcements via callers on street corners in some backwater berg somewhere.

Good points.

What I meant is that I wish they announced in a more visible way and gave a longer notice than 24 hours. I do not check the forums every day.
