You may want to edit your post. The last time someone started one of these, it fell apart quickly and the staff member who closed the thread threatened brimstone and fire on anyone who started another one.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't know that it had been tried before.

In case it's not good for the forum I apologize to the staff and hope that they kindly just delete this thread. :)

True, but Billy Graham is dead now so I think we're safe.
Hmm, I keep getting a "divide by zero" error.
I couldn't steer away, now I'm watching a car crash in slowmotion.

Oh well, the damage is done. Might as well lean back and enjoy the ride.

Don't worry Apex, just hop out. We've got this!

Don't see what the problem is, we need such a thread...so I'll start a discussion: What do you guys think about consensual cannibalism (e.g. the Armin Meiwes case)? Should it be judged like regular murder or somewhat of a grey area? Will society ever be ok with it?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this thread turns out.

Regarding consensual cannibalism I think that it should be judged in the same way as assisting someone in suicide with disturbing the peace of the grave as secondary crime.

But surely the motivation must count for something...if you assist someone in committing suicide because that person is incurably sick, and you don't gain from that person's death in any way, that might possibly be even seen as an altruistic deed. Cannibalism, even if the "victim" wants it, is different imo.
But it's a very hard question imo. There actually was another such case in Germany recently, with a former policeman who fantasized about cutting up a corpse meeting a guy on the net who fantasized about being butchered...well, ended with the latter dead. The case went up to the highest court after multiple appeals and the former policeman was eventually sentenced to life in prison (which means at least 15 years in Germany) for murder. Very odd case, and I do think some punishment was justified, just not sure if that wasn't excessive.

Look, every day we bury choice cuts of meat. Lets just eat those. No murder, no guilt.

Now on a scientific level, I have heard theories that there are potential severe health risk to eating one's own species, but that's no fun, so for the sake of the thread, let's just ignore that.

If you eat the brain, you get sick. Leave the brain and it's all good.
