thefallenalchemist: Does that mean there's a chance for Lust From Beyond? I mean, the game was developed in Poland, for crying out loud. David Jaffe worked on it and it is from a Polish indie developer. It almost makes perfect sense that it would be here too. What's more, is that it already has AO mode and normal mode baked into it. You just toggle them on or off.
The problem is that GOG seems to like to sell(besides it's own games, that is, like The Witcher series) tamer versions of such games......as shown by various games here needing slight modifications to show AO content. If it's baked in, GOG might not accept it because of that.
avatar
GamezRanker: Actually, anyone can judge near whatever they want......gaming or no.
(of course whether or not they do well in such endeavors is an entirely different matter)
I feel I can get a good approximation via several factors, which I listed earlier(other online reviews, the sample media and other store page info, etc).....hence, even though they are different genres, I believe I can make a good guess as to which of the games I(and maybe some others) feel is more well made.
Sure, of course.. I just meant that it might be unfair to judge a game just by it looks. However of course if you "feel" the game is better made that's perfectly fine ... but it does not have to feel this way for everybody.

avatar
GamezRanker: Best not to pay such much mind......life is too short to fret about such things.
You're absolutely right - but from time to time I need to shout out "leave me alone". I am well aware that nobody hears me or wants to hear me ... just sometimes I can't help it.

KasperHviid: Isn't it a bit strange that it doesn't include the original android version? It can't be that hard just to throw another file in.
Nor do other smartphone games sold here, like the Reigns series. or the Android Talisman Online client. GOG has never sold apks. The only source of DRM-free apk files I know of is Humble. And why provide them as extras when you might hope to sell both? It would be a nice feature if a dev would go for it, I would buy more of those games for sure - like Florence and so on - I played it on Google Play on my phone but I would have preferred to get the apk file here.

thefallenalchemist: Interesting... (Raises voice loudly) Would love to have a Yakuza game on here GOG. Why, I'd probably buy it day one.
I wonder why the only game published by SEGA here is The Deadly Tower of Monsters. Maybe on devs request? A lot of people would like to buy the first two Shenmue, Sonic games, the arcade classics, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War...and Yakuza of course. But they seem to be very protective of their franchises and prejudiced against DRM yet.

True enough, which is why I mentioned I was (personally, somewhat subjectively) judging the games listed here by some other factors as well. :)

Agreed

Best thing to do in such cases is to ignore it, till it becomes like in my case: like little more than the buzzing of flies
(note: I am not nor have I ever been Vigo....at least i'm fairly certain of this o.0)

Wrong! I hear ya and want to hear ya. :)

Because it was here before SEGA bought out the Studio, and I don't think SEGA can stand the pain of acknowledging GoG exists long enough to ask them to take it down.

Mori_Yuki: I don't know this game not my type but Kitty Powers? That name rings a bell ... Was he - or is it she? (no offense) co-host or participant in that youtube show RuPaul's Drag Race? Something the all-knowing YT algorithm suggested as result for a totally different search, though was funny, so. :-D
avatar
Darvond: Oh, so it is related to RuPaul, the one who "accidentally" insulted everyone in transition and then tried to backpedal by posting an abstract landscape.

I'm so proud we have a game here, made by someone associated with an active transphobe here, especially so soon after the end of Pride Month.</statement made completely in sarcastic contempt>
It isn't related to Ru Paul. It's Kitty Powers' project. I just wondered because the name rang a bell and it was related to RuPauls' show. That article, the irony doesn't escape me, though he isn't necessarily alone with this particular opinion.

Considering that Ru Paul is a drag queen obviously gay and married so what's the fuzz about something stupid like this. Just because someone is LBGwhathaveyou +-xyz does make them any more accepting or open and tolerant? Browsing YT history drag queens among themselves in another type of show of theirs they leave nothing out of the book that, when someone would daresay that on the Internet or IRL., they would be attacked and harassed to no end.

I simply don't care because what matters to me is the people I personally know and they are all over the spectrum. The least what they are concerned with are this stupid war and trying to force-on people to accept anything and everything. Things will change over time, gay, lesbian who today really cares whether one or the other is either, it has become normal. State discrimination is a problem that has to be fought with teeth and claw, because sexual orientation prosecution, like was the case during the Satanic Panic era, where in the US people still are behind bars, for their only 'crime' is being gay or lesbian. No state, no neighbor and no town or city, no one should ever have the right to forbid people to be what and who they are as long as no one else is harmed. And who really is?

They are a bit cheaper on the Google store, but not so much more expensive here like the Cat Quest games. I don't know the reasoning behind the higher prices for pc, maybe too much competition from free games in the Android market?
Or they intend to recover the costs of making and mantaining a pc port when the original was for mobiles?

GamezRanker: As a person into various pirate themed media and some cute furry stuff like this, I ask: how could anyone with such tastes NOT add it to their wishlists?
avatar
Ancient-Red-Dragon: Because the characters in the Pirate's Fate game are not cute nor pleasant to look at, not in the least bit. On the contrary, they are very hard on the eyes.

See the game called: "Dust: An Elysian Tail" if you want to see how aesthetically-pleasing/attractive characters of this kind are supposed to look.
I don't like furry stuff, but I agree with your statement, and the game you mentioned is as you claim.
The characters are well done and not offensive to the eye.
avatar
Zoidberg: I don't condone hatred, sue me.
You were going to get the Utter Lack of Self-Awareness award for somehow classifying "This might seem harsh but capitalism and economics work by understanding customers wants and needs and for filling them to make money, not other peoples fault you fail at basic economic principles. Gog should be thanking people and listening to what they want and don't want" as "hatred", while advocating for censorship of comments you don't like. But then this guy came along:

avatar
Patias: There's a reason the GOG community that participates in Reedit, Discord and Twitter calls this forum a toxic place, and this topic is living proof.
So you'll have to make do with an Overdramatic Solipsism one, I'm afraid. Congratulations anyway.

NalUzar: Seriously guys... WTF? Remember that on your platform you have also children...
avatar
mechmouse: It's PEGI-12

What exactly do you think its going to do children over 12?

Hiding LGBTQ+ content from kids doesn't protect them. I grew up under Section 28, I had no reference to my own sexuality until my 20's and even then it was piece meal and incomplete.
avatar
Zoidberg: tldr; If this is the GOG community, I'm ashamed at it. GOG Staff do something, closing your eyes and hoping these crass comments disappear is the worst way of fixing this.
