Would you kindly stay on topic? Both sides.
It's a release thread for a bunch of games, could be handy for discussing said games, wouldn't want to see it locked. Or derailed beyond use.

wolfsite: There are a few people signed up here who are either employees of, or volunteer for said company so they will shill every chance they get. It's one of the many reasons why I don't use said company.
avatar
Time4Tea: I'm not 'shilling', simply calling the undercutting move it out for what it obviously is.

ssling: The only place I ever hear of zoom-platform is GOG forum and it's always from the same few users mentioning it on every occasion. On one hand I guess they do decent job at advertising because otherwise I wouldn't even know about this store existence and I bet there are many like me here but on the other seeing the same users over and over again gives the impression of intrusive advertising and doesn't really help with looking at zoom favorably. Even less so implying undercutting prices, lol.
avatar
Time4Tea: And I see the exact same GOGfenders, grabbing their pitchforks and rushing to the defense at the slightest criticism. As usual.

As I've said before, the implication that someone is 'advertizing', simply by mentioning Zoom Platform in a thread, is frankly hilarious and shows how paranoid the die-hard GOG fanboy userbase has become.
Older games are always on sale when they get released on GOG. It's really nothing new or undercutting about it.

Edit: The base prices are still the same as Zoom. Not GOG fault Zoom lacks at having game sales

Sorry about that. I'll stop now.

Indeed, when a game was available for years in other platforms and it is released here it use to be offered with high discounts. It happened not long ago with Meridian4, Microids and others, even with Square Enix/Eidos titles etc.

SpecShadow: Since JA2 there were attempts at creating sequels and successors, most of them failed (some of them were decent with mods) and only one was worth that title - Apeiron's games.
But for some reasons old owner of JA messed up the deal so they had to release their games with different title, only "New Jagged Union" left for a reminder...

Game have real-time combat and I dare to say it's the best RTwP system I've ever seen.
You can set and controls many things it feels like you play with puppets. A bunch of things to take into accounts, dying in 1 shots and surviving wounds means you have to deal with various issues (blackouts for example).
Thanks for the "New Jagged Union" hint about the Jagged Alliance heritage of this game. This is really good to know.

The game can be played also in turns, right? Did you try both modes then?

For what is worth, X-COM: Apocalypse was a game that sported both modes. This player tried and liked the real time mode. With the large scenarios, it seemed like a chore to crawl in turns, the game seemed to be more focused to real time with tactical pause and different speeds. What about this one?

Ooh! A.I.M. 2 and A.I.M. racing? Well, I played the original AIM game wwaayy back when. I enjoyed it. Kind of weird that the 1st one isn't for sale. I'd love to add that one to my GOG collection. And I'll probably go ahead and get those two games in a few days.

It is real time with pause, autopauses and option for configurable slowmo when shooting to things. It is a very detailed rtt with pause system. Something in the vein of UFO series (Aftermath, Aftershock, etc)

Thank you! This helps
Does the GOG release of 7.62 come with the option to install the Blue Sun mod?

Do mean like package with the installer? Because I did not see a option.

Yep. Anything like that.

No and hard life has it own installer.
An alert for those who may have forgotten, and done similar.

All of these games, aside from Konung 3 and 7.62 Hard Life, I have gotten over time as freebies from IndieGala, and then later discovered at ZOOM Platform, though certainly cheaper here at GOG than ZP, with this sale discount anyway.

Both Konung 3 and 7.62 Hard Life were appealing enough for me to buy at GOG, while obviously no need to re-buy the rest.

tfishell: Without wanting to get involved in some lengthy "GOG vs Zoom-Platform" shtuff / argument, I'll say in GOG's defense I had suggested these at least once, if not a few times, before I even knew they were on Z-P. (I myself scrolled the publishers' lists on Steam.) And 7,62 and Konung 3 - if not also the others - have hundreds of wishlist votes I'm glad to see completed.

Now I don't think I can defend GOG if these are exactly the same versions as Z-P's (just with GOG's wrapper). GOG should have the resources to make their own fixes, imo. Maybe the games worked fine without needing much tweaking from any party, I don't know.

(I say this as someone who has supported Z-P with a number of things, I try to support various competition to Steam.)

Syphon72: Why is Zoom even being brought up? But anyways GOG did do better job with curse the eye of isis which was surprising to me.
Yeah I guess that was seemingly out of nowhere, other than Zoom's Tweet and Linko posting here. The post was mainly for my own satisfaction, since these are all games on Z-P and I don't think I stated my opinion during a similar situation not long ago, when a bunch of Microid's games also on Z-P were released here (I think that included Eye of Isis). And I have a list of suggestions for GOG I occasionally posted, which included missing Microids and Fulqrum titles. Believe it or not I wasn't trying to shill for them, I'm trying to be fair.
Finally got Konung 3!! Woo!!!

I got all these games years ago on Gamersgate in 1C Complete Pack that came with 80 games for 20 bucks. Most were DRM free, but GG dose doesn't really have an installer like GOG or Zoom. Which is a pain.

Honestly didn't really believe you were trying shill. Just was lost as why Zoom came up when these games are not exclusive to them. Some of the games on Zoom are straight copy's of the Gamersgates version and have no improves. Most still had all the same issues from my experience.
