7.62 (basically the sequel to brigade e5) is the closest anybody's gotten to a proper jagged alliance sequel. except they have real-time with pause combat, so they couldn't be further at the same time.

Unexpectedly – this is the event of the day! More good old games! Or at least old ones ;)

Good base prices and good release discounts. Thanks, GOG!

· Konung 3: Ties of the Dynasty I'll buy for sure
· Ascension to the Throne looks interesting – it's more like crpg or strategy? I think I should watch a few minutes of gameplay
· for the rest of them, I don't know the titles, but I'll make some research

Damn, these look pretty fun.

Any recommendations? I'll probably grab 7.62, based on Dohi64's post.
e: Btw, any reason for no AIM 1?

Ascension to the throne IMO is primarly tactic/strategy game, with small addition of cRPG. Battles are main course of the game and there are plenty of skirmishes. Only at the very beginning main character is fighting alone or with small support (one of the first quests is surviving 1vs1 fight with werewolf). I remember that the very beginning can be tought, even very tough.

But in the end - it's surprisingly fun game. I enjoyed it a lot, despite rather poor visual experience. And in my opnion it doesn't have any replayability value - just finish the game once (with all sub-quests etc) and you will probably see everything game has to offer. But for the current price - it's a good deal.

I personally would recommend Ascension to the Throne (see my reply above), I was extremely surprised how fun this game was.

Not sure about first A.I.M, but it's available on Zoom (so if you want to have full series in DRM free I guess you can grab one here and one on the "other place"). I read that first game is very buggy, but didn't play by myself.

I wonder if we can get the sequel Valkyrie: Ascension To The Throne here. Same developer but different publisher.
Did they get the BGM-looping bug from AIM 2 fixed?

Thanks for your opinion.
I've watched some gameplay. Looks terrible, but it's often only video gameplay problem, such games play much better than look on YT. Oh, and it's obviously a small dev studio; they were evidently saving on the costumes of the heroines ;)
Brigade E5 and High Calibre are my favorite, but hell it took way too long for GOG to bring them here that I already have both almost everywhere possible. Also, Hard Life has some very good modifications which are Steam Workshop exclusives unfortunately.
Nice releases! Will be grabbing these on Friday.

Nevermind, went ahead and bought them lol Will pre-order Scorn Friday though.

Well i'll be damned, gog is beginning to take the hint to stop lagging behind Zoom and Steam in getting old and obscure games. Well done, keep it up.

Ok. 7,62 comes with both the original and the fan made Hard Lfe mod or revision or whatever. Any reason to try the vanilla?

Since JA2 there were attempts at creating sequels and successors, most of them failed (some of them were decent with mods) and only one was worth that title - Apeiron's games.
But for some reasons old owner of JA messed up the deal so they had to release their games with different title, only "New Jagged Union" left for a reminder...

Game have real-time combat and I dare to say it's the best RTwP system I've ever seen.
You can set and controls many things it feels like you play with puppets. A bunch of things to take into accounts, dying in 1 shots and surviving wounds means you have to deal with various issues (blackouts for example).

Now waiting for Marauder - Man of Prey, another title that had strange release (only in some Polish gaming magazine Play before they closed their doors) before coming to Steam.

and btw. every game is hard as nail, no jokes

762mm HC and Hard Life are quite customisable which makes experience way longer than you expect.

Planet Alcatraz 2 in English maybe?

Played it after it was free on Indiegala, and wrote a review, if you're interested.
The tactical combat is basically the only thing going for it, but it's nice enough if you like power trips. Very janky and low production values though.
