SpecShadow: Marauder - Man of Prey
Would very much like to see this one next too.

Also, Chameleon (Wishlist entry). Has nothing to do with 1C/Fulqrum though, at least as far as I know.

Lucian_Galca: Well i'll be damned, gog is beginning to take the hint to stop lagging behind Zoom and Steam in getting old and obscure games. Well done, keep it up.
gamersgate had these titles way before Zoom and i think steam.

ciemnogrodzianin: · Ascension to the Throne looks interesting – it's more like crpg or strategy? I think I should watch a few minutes of gameplay

Cavalary: Played it after it was free on Indiegala, and wrote a review, if you're interested.
The tactical combat is basically the only thing going for it, but it's nice enough if you like power trips. Very janky and low production values though.
Thanks for the review.
You guys certainly discovered them!
Those games looks interesting

Gudadantza: Ok. 7,62 comes with both the original and the fan made Hard Lfe mod or revision or whatever. Any reason to try the vanilla?
Yeah theyre both a little different - plus hard life is HARD as the name implies.
Far as I remember they both have slightly different stories (not that theres loads of story).

Suggest starting with the original and see how it fits.

Chameleon was made by people responsible for Mafia games, never released in English officially.
Might check it out later when I dig out old CDs...

Indeed. Looking into it I can see that the vanilla can be the better option for a newie. The story in the fan made mod seems to be different, or at least you start in a different place, something to the half of the vanilla game in difficulty. Different pace or order of events, , maybe completelly new events etc.

It seems yo be similar to the famous Jagged Alliance 2 mod/fan upgrade. I'd say even more extreme.

Well. It can be good option for later restarts once you are experienced enough or finished the vanilla game a couple of times..

Greetings

Gudadantza:
I'd not long finished 7,62 when hard life was suddenly added to my steam library and after about two hours twitching and thumb fiddling I downloaded and played through the whole thing.

...and then again about two weeks later! XD

Yeah vanillas the springboard and if you love it hard life will keep you held close afterwards.

Plus, great value for the current price. Have about 70hrs in each game.

As I'm currently replaying JA Back in Action I'll prob end up firing one or both 7,62 games up afterwards.
This is what we were talking about some months ago. More old stuff. Konung 3 will be a purchase and also Ascension to the Throne.

Never heard of 7.62 but i'm going to get it for sure at some point.
Without wanting to get involved in some lengthy "GOG vs Zoom-Platform" shtuff / argument, I'll say in GOG's defense I had suggested these at least once, if not a few times, before I even knew they were on Z-P. (I myself scrolled the publishers' lists on Steam.) And 7,62 and Konung 3 - if not also the others - have hundreds of wishlist votes I'm glad to see completed.

Now I don't think I can defend GOG if these are exactly the same versions as Z-P's (just with GOG's wrapper). GOG should have the resources to make their own fixes, imo. Maybe the games worked fine without needing much tweaking from any party, I don't know.

(I say this as someone who has supported Z-P with a number of things, I try to support various competition to Steam.)

Why is Zoom even being brought up? But anyways GOG did do better job with curse the eye of isis which was surprising to me.

If you are going to play the base version of 7,62 High Calibre first, I strongly recommend to apply the Unofficial Patches. They are only fixes with no changes to the gameplay.
