EndlessWaves: Looking through the T&Cs:

"Prize will only be awarded and/or delivered to addresses within . All federal, state and/or local taxes, fees, and surcharges are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. "

For a prize of this value you really need to be pre-paying custom duty and tax. You don't say where it's dispatched from, but if it's sent from datamaster in the US then a winner here in the UK would be given a customs bill of £350+

A unique prize is all very nice, but I could buy a top of the range keyboard and mouse of my choice for that sort of money.

(although this being a gog competition the winners will never be announced, so I guess it's a moot point)
yes, such competition is good just for US citizens. strange that middle-european company admits such a crap action if they are not able to ensure prize distribution from EU
Could someone from GOG clarify if the winner from EU would have to pay customs/VAT since the item comes from the US?
An EU based winner is looking at paying $400+ if that's the case...
An obvious work around would be GOG posting the item from Poland if the winner is from the EU.

It's a rarity that hardware does anything than make me think "Hmm, that'll suit my needs" but those things just made my clockwork heart just skip a beat.

I agree, I participated but haven't thought about this :P
But well, that only means that I'm absolutely sure to not win the first prize ^^"
That's a very nice giveaway - Datamancer devices look awesome - but as others have said, due to import duties and taxes, GOG needs to clarify how the prize delivery will be handled if the winner is a European resident.
You've got this sentence in section 4 of the terms and conditions:

"Prize will only be awarded and/or delivered to addresses within ."

It looks a little unfinished.

Hey everyone, just thought I'd clear up the import duties/tax issues. The prizes will indeed be sent from the States, however, they'll be marked as a gift, ie. they shouldn't incur any import duties. This is the industry standard for handling contest and giveaway send-outs. I've spoken to Gambitious directly and was informed that they've done this in the past and so far none of the recipients had to pay any tax on their prize. However, if something like that should happen, all costs associated with the delivery of the prize to the winner will be reimbursed.

Hope this clarifies this :)

Same if the winner is from the US? Normally this stuff is counted as income for tax purposes and one would need to claim it at the end of the year, effectively causing income tax on an additional $2,000 of "income".

Yep, should work the same if the winner is from the US.

Thanks for clarifying.
Pretty unique keyboard there, though I'm a bit dubious about the real world working of that mouse.

Hmm not even sure I've entered correctly. Went through a few of the options put in my email saved it save the relevant pages. Won't do the twitter thing as I don't like handing over that much control to a third party.

But yet up the top still shows 0 entries. I've refreshed a few times and even repeated the steps. So no idea if I'm even in the running.

Oh well I'll just assume I am in order to avoid disappointment and undue frustration.

Well goodluck and I hope the winner enjoys their steampunk tech.
Wow! That looks really beautiful... I hope be the lucky one!
I assume there'll be some sort of announcement about winners? I didn't see any mention of it...

I want to pick up Diluvion at the release sale price, but now I'm holding off to see if I win a free copy first. So it'd be good if we knew the results well before the sale ends...

Maighstir: The Facebook and Instagram ones are just "visit", which suits me fine, as I don't have an account to either, but I can still click through and visit the page.

Whereaminow25: I so did not know that, Thanks for the help. Now I have +3 more chances ^^
Neither did I before I clicked :-P
