Did anyone try to open PayPal dispute about payment to GOG and did GOG delete their account after?

Supposedly GOG is using those fascist tactics against their users so I'd like to know is there any truth to the rumor. I've been patiently waiting for 2 weeks for refund and I can't do it anymore, I need my money now. So I'm not sure should I backup my GOG collection before opening PayPal case, I have 400 games which they will steal from me if the rumors are true.

I have never seen anyone or links to anywhere stating this. so without any evidence I will say that this is a rumor

What kind of "fascist" tactics are you talking about ? opening a Paypal dispute or a charge back is considered the equivalent of a credit card fraud by most online shop and will get you banned in no time. Now whenever Gog will ban you totally, ban you from purchasing or do nothing, no idea, but as a general rule charge back should be the absolute final solution.

On the other side they are doing refund it takes around three to four weeks based on the refund thread in the Cyberpunk forum.

One thing also to remember is that normally dispute can take up to 20 days, so there is no guarantee that it will be any faster than the "around three week for refund" that it apparently takes now with Gog refunds

These "it would be shame if something happened to your account" horror stories are something that I've read about Steam years ago and I never believed GOG would turn into similar monster. I still hope it's not true and that you have no idea what you're talking about.

It shows that a refund was issued and can take a few business days to be refunded. If they did actually request a PP refund then it will take several days. 19-21 December is not really long enough. (More so if it included weekends, as its business days, mon-fri.)

And if it got refunded to their wallet rather than PP then it was likely just missed it was requested to PP and they should of just reminded GOG after the post from staff, not issued a dispute.

Where in that r/GOG sub does it say his account was cancelled? All I see is a message saying the order was cancelled.

There is no evidence on this link that states that your account will be deleted, only a strange speachbubble thing which is not from gOg. so I call bullshit on that rumor.

It sounds insane to me that GOG turned into one of "those" companies, but these are crazy times we're living in and I don't know what to believe anymore. I mean even in this topic there is a user practically saying not just that it's true, but that it is justified.

You are lucky then. As I said it's a very common practice, at least for online shop selling physical goods, some years ago I even got banned from Amazon.fr because somebody who gifted me something asked for charge back, it took one week of e-mail exchanges to convince them to reactivate my account.

But like I said in my first post I have no idea what Gog is doing in such circumstances.

Also when you open a dispute Paypal contact the seller and they have seven days to answer (answer Paypal), and that's seven to answer, not necessarily seven day to refund you, they can simply answer to paypal that your refund is in progress in which case Paypal won't do anything before the 20 days.

Firstly you said it yourself its just rumours.

Secondly neither of them give any proof that accounts where even deleted, let alone due to a dispute.

First link takes you to a highlighted post about not receiving a reply, it should be well known that since COVID GOG support has been overwhelmed, numerous sales and Cyberpunk has added to that so waiting a week such as that post says in your first link is no time at all. Even when they are not as I said a week is no time at all, certainly not long enough just to say right I've had no reply so i'm going to open a dispute, which is what they did.

Second link is just someone online saying it could. I could say GOG are going to release NOLF tomorrow. Does that make it true no.

Personally I wouldn't worry about it.
