Keep an eye out for these localized game versions that just hit our catalog.



Throughout the years, many of the games that are part of GOG.com have seen localized releases and we ventured to collect many of them with the help of our dedicated community and a thorough search through our master archives. Today, 21 games featuring some of these elusive releases enter our wonderful, digitized catalog.

Learning a foreign language is no easy task, although games have been known to expedite the process. And hunting down localized versions comes with its own challenges but we are not ones to give up easily. Besides, we were not alone in this noble quest. Many of the localized versions on this list come from our personal collections, others we acquired through persistent eBay hunting, but a good number of them were submitted by members of our wonderful multilingual community, that humbled us with their generosity. Let’s take a moment to offer these people a resounding high-five and a warm "thank you" for making this Community Language Pack possible with their contributions.

A huge thanks to all these people and the team at ScummVM.org for their numerous donations — both physical and digital. Good job, you guys. We may speak different languages, live in different parts of the world, or even enjoy different genres. But we are all gamers, and that's a word that sounds awesome in every language, n'est-ce pas?


Note: These language versions will be getting gradually rolled out today, so don't fret if you don't see your language version right away.

Ok, if you accept official translations: How to easily and fast submit translations to you? Is there an email for that?

Since many people here are throwing localisations at GOG now I want to say a little thing about this. The main reason why GOG is not releasing a special localisation are missing legal rights. I offered GOG about 150 localisations or so (cannot remember exactly) but most of them were declined due to legal rights (yes, The Longest Journey German was part of the declined ones). They also don't want to overuse the community which imo is understandable so I would suggest to write down a list and simply ask them by contacting them directly (mail support or chat) since I don't think they will spread their rights in an open forum like this.

It's great to see more localizations being added to some of the classic games here!
I am visiting my father in Germany right now, and he loves to Play Point and Click Adventures. We played through the remake of Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers which had a German localization, and I really wanted to immediately jump into Gabriel Knight 2... Unfortunately, it lacked German subtitles and voices, so it was a no-go for him.

More translations are always a good thing :)

maladr0Id: There have been several PC games with Greek subtitles available, throughout the years. Off the top of my head: Scratches, The Abbey, and Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals definitely had that option.
Also one or more games from the Atlantis series, perhaps no.3, and a couple of other Cryo games like Egypt and Odyssey: The Search for Ulysses, if I recall correctly.

There have been others, too, but memory is a bit fuzzy right now. Too much Samorost 3, not enough sleep :/
Thanks for the info. The retail version of Egypt 3: The Fate of Ramses I own didn't have anything like that, but maybe that's because I bought it on Cyprus (around here there's also the weird thing that the version Windows is on default is... English instead of Greek -which is the mother tongue of Greeks of Cyprus -so people here ofc don't get more computer literate...).
Anyways, is there any way you people on Gog can release the Egypt series and/or Atlantis Evolution here? (and please do not bring the botched Ipad-to-pc port of Atlantis Evolution). If you don't know its okay though....

To tell you the truth: GK2 in German does not work really well because one of the charms it had was that it was about an american in Germany including language problems. Having all people dubbed in German destroys this feeling completely. It's really confusing when Gabriel does not seem to understand what another one said even though he spoke the same language.

That's nothing compared to "Schw. Tr. d. Le.en.-W." from Oblivion. It's supposed to be the German translation for "Weak Potion of Healing". I think it means something like "Schwacher Trank der Lebenswiederherstellung", which probably was too long for the game...

Schw. Tr. d. Le.en.-W.
Schwacher Trank der Lebenswiederherstellung

An easy translation where you don't have to slaughter every single word? -> Schwacher Heiltrank. But I can see why they preferred Schw. Tr. d. Le.en.-W. :P

Oddworld Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus lack the non-english language versions here while Steam has them. Besides thatt it would be nice if the Sierra Citybuilders (Pharaoh/Caesar/Zeus) and Empire Earth could get german versions at some point.

I miss the other languages for Tropico (1). Every time I click in someone that just died, for example, I dream with my "assistente" saying "Que peninha..."
