that's not true about th1 hd. it's a bugged version of classic the hell mod which was done by a coder on the team but he didn't really understand the core of the game and just went for the flashy stuff. and his ignorance killed the balance. hence, it's not the best way. it's the worst way. the engine is different, but the balance was crippled and it will leave player irritated in the end. and no one wants their project to receive a bad name because of such things. hence, th1hd was taken down. it was like a child born with deformities.

the hell 1 is not a classic diablo 1 game too. it has more features than belzebub, only they are not easy to spot, it's all in the mechanics. by the way, belzebub was inspisred by the hell 1. it never lived up to the balance so they played the graphics card to lure in feeble minds. it's easy to slap "hd" after the mod name and attract people this way. the hell mod had team behind it, belzebub had one guy, a coder. this mod is more of a tech demo than a game/mod. weak design. weak balance. all points spent on improvements of the looks and effects.

it's the difference like in cars, can be nice to look at, can feel great to drive, can be both. th1 was good to drive, bob was nice to look at. th2 is both. original diablo is none.

If u want original diablo 1 then play original diablo 1 and dont cry that moded version isn't it. What balance problem u have? mage is op? when wasnt it? The game is fun, have more content (which is high quality - some quests are beter than in "original" game) and it is ton of fun. U don't like it? cry me a river. Many others people do, including myself and I plan on continuilng to play this even though it is more chalanging than "original" but that only mean acomplishing anything in this mod gives more satisfaction.

Even most texture mods can't help themselves and change the look and feel of areas in the game. I rarely use graphics mods for these reasons.

I never use texture mods. In my mind something will always be lost/misinterpreted by somebody who hasn't been involved in the creation of the game. I just feel that I might miss a small detail from the game, just because I used some mod that changes the textures.

What if I end up being taken out of the atmosphere of the game, because one of the areas has some textures, that are just slightly mismatched to the quality of what was used previously. Could it be that subconsciously that ruined the game for me? I don't know!

I only ever use limited mods that clearly state what they change, such as a particular usability option. For example for Titan Quest I used a mod that added 3x the enemies, allowing me to more efficiently farm bosses for items.

I generally agree, yeah. There's a handful of texture mods that I feel stick super close to the original design though, like Deus Ex's and Thief 3's.

They can be fun after playing the game without them, though, to see the changes and other people's visions come to life.

As you can see on my screenshot, Belzebub supports 2560x1440, boasting about supporting 4k is just dumb, look at my other screenshot - 2560x1440 feels uncomfortable already and on 4k everything is super small so aiming is a nightmare. Nobody plays like this. You are quite a joker. Well, seems some people like quantity instead of quality. Belzebub has 6 classes and each is vastly different than the other, offering a unique gameplay and mechanics.
TH2? I can't even remember their names, they feel copy pasted and shallow, wow cool now I'm playing class X that looks the same as class Y but has +5% crit or some other crap :D Give me a break. - how can I even argue with you if it's obvious you haven't even played/completed Belzebub with sorcerer? (btw just saw your vid on youtube, took you 1h 20 min to get to butcher :D) And Diablo did it in 1996, 9 years before TH1, what's your point? Seems you think being faster means better :( It's funny when I remember that I was the one suggesting bigger inventory and how hard you resisted it.
As for more content, Belzebub dungeons are bigger on higher difficulties and have more monsters. You always have the same crap lvls with preset 200 monsters and same size. Remembering how you used being first as an indicator of being better (quests), let me do the same.
Improved HUD? Belzebub had it in 2014 (Probably much earlier), TH2 copied Belzebub's/Tchernobog's HUD in 2019 - oh, that's too bad, 5 years earlier huh?
As for crafting, you went for the typical "we don't have it because we don't need it". People playing Belzebub/Tchernobog love the crafting system. - ofc it's ultra fun, I coded it after all.

I'm not saying TH2 is shit in general, but stop being such an ass and pretending like your mod is the very best and belittling other mods. In many aspects they are lightyears ahead of TH2.

Whatever you did in TH2, you did what I told you to. As it was, is and will be with coders.

That you don't know difference between classes and assume there is little means only that you don't know the difference of classes in TH2.
Class that specializes in melee elemental attacks.
Class that throws explosive or DOT flasks.
Class that uses summons.
Class that uses thorns as main attack.
Class that uses traps as static passive turrrets.
Are there such mechanics in Bob? All it did is badly ported Necromancer gameplay from D2. It might be much work but there is no real creativity involved. Unlike TH2 where creativity flourishes. Plus, perks are vastly different now. What you deem your work, was rewritten and modified according to my vision. By another coder. Because it's me who is irreplacable. And you are. Don't forget that.

Lightyears ahead? WIth brokem gameplay mechanics and animation speeds? Some colored lighting effects is all that makes it light years ahead? Per-pixel shading? What about world and monster animation being rendered at different speeds? Player and monster animations looking ridiculously out of place. Infamous pixel hunting when trying to highlight an object? These are the things that irritated me most when I tried to play it. I really tried. But that made it impossoble to enjoy the mod. It lloks like a Frankenstein with a lipstick on it. It's a corpse of a game, badly sewn and animated. Also badly. With a lot of flashy effects and glitter put all over it to hide the ugliness. If that's "light years" ahead, I definetely choose to stay in dark ages.

I think comparing the two mods in question is pointless because they are very different from each other. Belzebub brought back content that was deleted from the original game for whatever reason. Also the dev took some elements from hellfire such as the difficulty levels only accessed from multiplayer in the original only but adds some new elements. TH2 from what I have read the summary of it it takes d1 and enhances it tenfold with all kinds of features it's like a complete make over that needs the D1 base game in order for it to run. Just like the now defunct Knight of the Old Republic mod that got shut down by Disney.

TBH I don't get why: The devs don't keep most info secret until it's done to avoid this and drop it on torrent, or why they don't work on it in secret anyways.
