All I really wanted was to see the 15 levels o Diablo 1 recreated complete with quests and monsters/bosses in Diablo 3. Maybe even the classes.

Not that D3 doesn't already have a massive amount of D1 stuff recreated in it... Most dungeon locations on act 1 are pulled straight from D1.

It even gives you The Butcher and Skeleton King, the 2 out of 3 proper bosses in the original game.

In all honesty, I'd love to see D1 Diablo and D2 Diablo as secret uber bosses in 3. :)

But my wish is mostly because D1 has aged so badly and is hardly playable anymore. An update would be sweet.

There is an updated version of Diablo 1.

It's called Torchlight.

It's called Torchlight.
While Torchlight is a decent game with certain modern features and the like, it can't hold a candle to Diablo 1's overall atmosphere and character.

Sacrilege! Also: what a load of shit. Diablo II is just perfect, there is no need to "recreate" anything - just get a damn CRT so you can play the game the way it's meant to be played....

If only Diablo 2 made paladins more balanced and better with Melee combat than it is perfect.

I hate to resort to the hammerdin build and the zealot build is too weak.

Hmmm i never played the Paladin really, only the Sorceress seemed really fun to me, and the assassin. However the Zy-El mod did a lot of changes, to my understanding every class was revamped to be good enough on their own. If you haven't tried it, you might :) (it's not easy though, especially on your own at first)
