In case anyone's still interested, Dreadlocks has finally updated Humble's DRM-Free version to the Enhanced Edition version.

Ah, good to know. I might buy it after all. I guess there is no hope for GOG to ever releasing it.

I wasn't too happy kickstarting Dex (had to settle for a Steam key since Dreadlocks often stated it was either that or a Ouya key with no promise of a DRM-free version). While it'd be nice to see Dex here, I'm not going to feel bummed if I never do.

As a backer you should of had the option of getting it DRM-Free on Humble. I'd tell you to contact them to sort it out, but I didn't have the easiest of times communicating with them.

I'm not really going to worry about it. It took me about a year before I actually played the game and it's still got an issue with the quests (titles and descriptions keep shuffling around). I played about three hours or so without any desire to go back to it.

Any update on this from GOG? Is Dex now acceptable or they are still some blockers remaining?

Whenever they're asked about releasing Dex on GOG, the devs say it was rejected several times. It seems pretty definitive that Dex won't be coming out on GOG.

Does that include recent enhanced edition?

Don't know for sure, but that's what they said when the Enhanced Edition was released, that GOG had rejected them several times. I suppose it could mean that the Enhanced Edition itself was rejected or that the previous rejections led them to lose interest in releasing it on GOG.

I don't believe they're particularly interested on DRM-Free gaming, considering the Enhanced Edition came out in October and was only now updated on Humble. They seem far more focused on getting Dex out on consoles.
"As you may know, Dex has already been refused twice by GoG and it looked like that was, well, that. But we hate giving up, so we contacted GoG again and reopened negotiations. Successfully this time. So, it is with great joy that we announce Dex is set to become available on GoG in the coming months and will include support for achievements via GoG Galaxy.

Dex will be made available on GoG in its special edition, which includes the soundtrack, new art book and other bonus materials."

Very nice.

GOG, please un-reject The Consuming Shadow while you're at it. :P (unless there are important issues that would cripple a GOG release) - https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/the_consuming_shadow

And the MacVenture games (ShadowGate original) and the shmups and etc.

Maybe Hatred too (assuming it's relatively bug-free), unless most of the 4,000+ votes were "in the heat of the moment".

Actual Good News™ :)
Great news. Shame that the man behind it is gone.

I remember that there were supposed to be a few more DLC's, but after the death of their lead designer, game was considered finished, basically amd nothing new was added.

Still, great little game with a spot on cyberpunk mood. If you like the genre, definitely a must have. Just go in without any expectations. It's a hybrid between platformer and RPG, so don't expect Shadowrun or Deus Ex. For me, there were 10 euro well invested, as i've enjoyed the game. Unfortunately, i had to buy the game on Steam due to the ping-pong match between devs and GOG. Will get it again on GOG in a sale.
