samuraigaiden: It's a scam.

They are selling games that have been removed from other stores due to expired licenses or IP disputes, like Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition and Race Driver: GRID. One of their people went on record sometime ago saying they'll remove games if the IP owner asks them to, otherwise they'll keep selling them regardless. Being a completely irrelevant store that is almost impossible to google thanks to having the same name as an infinitely more popular chat app, I suspect many of these IP holders don't even know they exist - like most people

There is a different thread here on the forum that goes in-depth on their shenanigans, if you are interested.

If you decide to buy games there, be sure to back up whatever game you get.

De Ravenna: So they are selling abandonware that can be downloaded for free elsewhere? Yet people knowingly still give them money. Why?
really ?:D rofl , then they are not more legitimate than i would just start selling those games

If that's really the case then they're just like old-games but makes it like it's seemingly more legit...

I would be skeptical: that's implying they're selling games and aren't in contact with the devs at all. How can they sell the games without them being available? Do they just get a gog installer or something, unpack it, and make their own? Don't fall for this.

So in other words, if what you are saying is true, then they are straight up selling warez.

But they're in touch with the devs of devotion? Wouldn't this be effectively blowing their cover?

Imo, anyone making a serious accusation like that needs to provide some evidence to back it up. If they were really selling warez, I would expect them to have a much larger catalogue than they have.

They are selling Race Driver: GRID, a game that was removed from sale from Steam and GOG (and everywhere else) because of expiring licenses.
Doing some research, there are many red flags about this company and I suspect it may be part of a larger scam. I may post a thread if I discover enough evidence.

Nice, thank you for your efforts. I stick to epic/gog for now.

Someone mentioned earlier there was a thread in these forums about it already but gave no link.
How come Zoom has those Guilty Gear games, yet Gog doesn't...
Have the Devotion devs tried selling the game on itch.io? As niche as itch is, I imagine Zoom Platform would give them even less exposure. Selling only there seems like a better deal for Zoom than for these devs (due to all the publicity surrounding this game's suppression by China).
This is besides the fact that everything I know about both stores says that itch is far and away the better one to support and draw more people's attention to.

It's not a scam, bernie stolar works there along with several other notable people in the gaming industry.

So then what's your response to the comments in this thread that claim they sell games without having first obtained the permission to do so from the IP holders of those games?

If that is true, then that's illegal and they are selling warez, regardless of who does or doesn't work for them.

And if those allegations are not true, then can someone please clarify that too.

Well, if people can't dig up enough evidence, i know the quickest way to solve this issue: contact some of the licensing holders and see how they react.

I was thinking the same thing, but iddn't ask 'cause i figured there were connections that weren't obvious on the surface.
