Time4Tea: Well, they won't, if everyone thinks like that. They will be forever trapped in a chicken-egg dilemma.
I get what you're saying... but my account doesn't work, and cannot be recovered, and i can't even re-register with my email address. All I ever did was sign up, browse once and log out now my account is inaccessible.

Hmm ... ok, that's weird. Did you try contacting their customer support? I heard they are refreshingly helpful and responsive.

Will be doing that next yeah, but their UI is incredibly unhelpful on the website, an attempt to do a password recovery or re-register just turns the email box red and doesn't progress.

rjbuffchix: At least all the games on there are DRM-free with no need for a client or signing in to receive Rewards for the flagship "DRM-free" game. It is a much smaller scale store than here but there are some classic games available there that aren't on GOG.

samuraigaiden: It's a scam.

They are selling games that have been removed from other stores due to expired licenses or IP disputes, like Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition and Race Driver: GRID. One of their people went on record sometime ago saying they'll remove games if the IP owner asks them to, otherwise they'll keep selling them regardless. Being a completely irrelevant store that is almost impossible to google thanks to having the same name as an infinitely more popular chat app, I suspect many of these IP holders don't even know they exist - like most people.

There is a different thread here on the forum that goes in-depth on their shenanigans, if you are interested.

If you decide to buy games there, be sure to back up whatever game you get.
I don't know how does the situation look like with GRID, but in case of Duke Nukem 3D Gearbox is rather aware of the fact that game is sold on Zoom. In fact about 2,5 year ago I've sent email to Gearbox to ask about Zoom and Duke Nukem games in their offer, as I was interested in buying Duke there. Aside from receiving rather standard reply (quoting" We've passed this information along to the members of our Team who specialize in this area and they should be able to take any actions if necessary.") I've received information, that they've closed my inquiry.

Nothing else has happened since that moment. Disclaimer - I didn't do it to make any "nasty surprise" to Zoom, just wanted to be sure if it's legit to buy game here (what is more, guys from "today's" 3D Realms (that company which have taken the name from old 3D Realms) have adviced me to do so).

MartiusR: Everything in their offer is DRM-free. But it was more visible in old version of website, where were even listed all files (installer files, soundtrack etc).
More visible? I could not find any official statement about any of their games being sold DRM-free and they don't even have their own forum with its user maintained lists of unofficially DRM-free games, although I happen to view such lists totally useless to me, as even if everyone would specify how well they personally verified that their copy is indeed DRM-free, should those games later become DRM'ed with a patch I would not have any grounds for a refund.

Time4Tea: Why should it be Zoom Platform's problem, if publishers aren't able to keep track of which online stores they have made agreements with for distribution of their games? If a publisher has signed a contract with ZP allowing them to sell a game 'until further notice', surely the onus is on them to provide that notice, if they want to stop selling the game?

It sounds to me that the problem is with the publishers.
Unless I am mistaken, GRID was pulled from GOG before Zoom Platform existed, so the only way I could see it being sold legally again anywhere digitally after that is if Codemasters needed to license those brands again for their upcoming game and somehow managed to add in a clause that allows them sell their old games too with only a minimal extra fee on top of the likely humongous upfront fee they would have had to pay anyway to be able to use those brands in their new game.
Thanks for the news

The current look of the website is temporary, it will look very different when they update it. Same with a lot more games incoming, it was this year where they seem to take it more seriously despite being out for a few years. I believe starting next year it will be more out there and people notice it when the newer website update comes and games start coming in more regular.

Zoom Platform: Existed at least since May 2015.
GRID: Removed from GOG and other platforms during December 2016.
Conclusion: Nope

I admit that I don't remember extremely well old website, but I remember for sure that it had contained much more details both in terms of game cards (every game card contained information about files with game and extras included), as well as in those other tabs with additional information. Current one (temporary or not) has really little information available.

MartiusR: As suggested, for info purpose, I've created this thread.

One of admins mentioned on official Zoom channel , that they are willing to add Devotion to their offer (if dev will be interested), but rather not in this year, quoting (by "Zoom_Jordan"):

if Red Candle Games wants to host Devotion here, that's fine. We're just slammed at the moment. I can reach out to them early next year and see what they say. However, we really need to catch up on our current backlog first. We need to deliver what we already have in the queue.

Here is the link to the mentioned message:

Edit: I'm adding direct link to the store's website, as other users mentioned later in this topic, it's a bit hard to find this website due to the same name as other services with Zoom in it:

https://www.zoom-platform.com/
That would be awesome! Thanks for reaching out to them.

Them saying they have a perpetual license doesn't explain much. I'm not a lawyer, I have no idea if this is a legit explanation or not, but it sure sounds... unusual, to say the least.
Good for them! I presume Zoom will sell it DRM-free (installer), so sure, I can see myself buying the game there. I probably even have an account there already.

Everyone else can also then put their mouth where their money is (or was it the other way around?), so, yeah...

Anime-BlackWolf: Sure, bring it to Zoom. But it is only a matter of TIME, then it will vanish from Zoom, too. The store will not be dumb enough to open itself for DDOS-Attacks or China-blacklisting or being a target for political hackers.

What happened to GOG (small player compared with Steam), WILL happen to Zoom, too. Sorry for destroying the party.
No worries: it'll see the light of day somewhere at some point. It just boils down to when the company gets fed up enough.

So they are selling abandonware that can be downloaded for free elsewhere? Yet people knowingly still give them money. Why?
