wolfsite: The sites layout looks very dated, Linux support is almost non-existent and the number of games is also quite small, they have a ways to go.
Looked through the site and can't even find if the games are DRM free or you get a Steam code, and if you need a Steam code then that more or less puts you back into the same issue.
I haven't bought anything from them yet, but my understanding is they are DRM-free offline installers. I got Biohazard in my Zoom library for free and it is a file download. I also believe they are working on an updated website. Looked through the site and can't even find if the games are DRM free or you get a Steam code, and if you need a Steam code then that more or less puts you back into the same issue.
Btw, it's good to hear they are busy 'working on a backlog' of games to release. That's exciting! :-)

paladin181: I can't find a link anywhere to the "Zoom game platform" Everything takes me to Zoom games for kids or to the video conferencing app.
https://www.zoom-platform.com/ For me, it doesn't show up on Google search till page 5.

Just found it and was about to post it myself. Took a nice, deeper dive to find it. Thanks though. I use Duckduckgo rather than Google.

Wondering if they have a name change planned in the future, that would definitely help resolve the confusion.

I still doubt Zoom Platform's ability to be a major player in general, let alone in the DRM free market, but we'll see. I've made an account but I'm not ready to buy there until i see some major progress.

low rated
samuraigaiden: In all seriousness, the Zoom Platform is a joke and I'm not surprised in the slightest that they would take advantage of this situation to promote their borderline non-existent, sales only via Paypal, sad excuse for a store.
rjbuffchix: At least all the games on there are DRM-free with no need for a client or signing in to receive Rewards for the flagship "DRM-free" game. It is a much smaller scale store than here but there are some classic games available there that aren't on GOG. They are selling games that have been removed from other stores due to expired licenses or IP disputes, like Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition and Race Driver: GRID. One of their people went on record sometime ago saying they'll remove games if the IP owner asks them to, otherwise they'll keep selling them regardless. Being a completely irrelevant store that is almost impossible to google thanks to having the same name as an infinitely more popular chat app, I suspect many of these IP holders don't even know they exist - like most people.
There is a different thread here on the forum that goes in-depth on their shenanigans, if you are interested.
If you decide to buy games there, be sure to back up whatever game you get.

BTW people, if you sign up to Zoom Platform make sure to get the free games they are offering. One of them is Death Rally, an absolute classic combat racing game.

Orkhepaj: everything starts small Edit: So I Just tried to log in to my Zoom account, and it says invalid credentials, and it won't send a password reset to any of my email addresses. It just turns the email box red, no info, no message sent, nothing.
I DID sign up and look around, now my account doesn't seem to either exist or be recoverable. Great start.

samuraigaiden: It's a scam.

One of their people went on record sometime ago saying they'll remove games if the IP owner asks them to, otherwise they'll keep selling them regardless.
Why should it be Zoom Platform's problem, if publishers aren't able to keep track of which online stores they have made agreements with for distribution of their games? If a publisher has signed a contract with ZP allowing them to sell a game 'until further notice', surely the onus is on them to provide that notice, if they want to stop selling the game? They are selling games that have been removed from other stores due to expired licenses or IP disputes, like Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition and Race Driver: GRID. One of their people went on record sometime ago saying they'll remove games if the IP owner asks them to, otherwise they'll keep selling them regardless.
It sounds to me that the problem is with the publishers.
Well, they won't, if everyone thinks like that. They will be forever trapped in a chicken-egg dilemma.

Sure, bring it to Zoom. But it is only a matter of TIME, then it will vanish from Zoom, too. The store will not be dumb enough to open itself for DDOS-Attacks or China-blacklisting or being a target for political hackers.
What happened to GOG (small player compared with Steam), WILL happen to Zoom, too. Sorry for destroying the party.
