I am only disapointed by finding out people with such a mental background are "looking out" for us all. Most likely running for their own benefit behind our backs, as much as the "corrupt and oppressive" governments they so much struggle against, or blatantly lying. Not about credentials, just about a whole universe of people, close ones, remote ones, past and present ones, who are the absolute opposite of you, the absolute antagonists of what you stand for, and who, throughout history, have kept deriding people like you (the apologists of dictatorships, the negationists of universal human rights, the "who I torture on my territory is none of the outside world's business"). It's a bit eerie to still see people like you, and proud to be like you, instead of just seeing the consequences in some Amnesty report, but also laughable to witness your revendications in front of international solidarities and judgements. And how they proudly echo the worst of human history, from the period of pro-nazi censorship ("don't diss Hitler it's not your country") to the waves of islamist terrorism ("they published a caricature of our prophet, they had it coming").

You're the recurring tiny baddie of history, the one that sustains the worst regimes and horrors of mankind - and basically anything good on this planet, any fallen dictator, any escaped or released victim of State torture, any international denunciation of political brutalities, has happened in opposition to you and people like you. In all the ongoing geopolitical horrors, in the whole history of them, "don't dare laughing at our dictator because he's waving our flag" has been the main rhetorics that maintain them. Heck, the funniest thing is that your country wouldn't even exist at all if it wasn't for the involvement of European powers in the 19th century.

I happen to live with the very concrete consequences of your mentality, on real human beings. I know enough of them who are alive only because of people who are your opposite (and who oppose you). And some who are dead only because of people like you. Just a perspective on what your respect or your little forumic demands mean to me, and in general.
