Ingsoc85: They did say Strife would be released on GOG (thought no date was given) and I do believe the "new" version has classic mode.
Tarm: I honestly don't believe them. Hopefully I'm wrong but my bet is they'll go steam only. Again.
I'm pretty sure that the new version of Strife is down to what the original Strife devs wanted to do with it, with ND working as publishers, rather than something that ND themselves spearheaded
We need to remember that ND work with rights holders and have to respect what they want to do with the properties they own...
