So now anyone can become a stock holder and influence the company going forward.

Most interesting of note is that Sony Interactive Entertainment has purchased 5% share holdings, doubt this would lead anywhere but with some many companies in the video industry getting consumed for exclusives and IP's best to keep an eye on that.
How long until our favorite Chinese game company buys the majority of the company?

Pour one out for Devolver, going public is always a bad idea.

No longer only able to service their own wants and interest, now they become slaves to a pack of vipers.

Yeah, I don't get that move either. From all appearances, they were doing quite well before. Never involve profit-über-alles-driven shareholders unless you have to.

When will those people run out of money?
Has there EVER been a video game company that went public and produced better games as a result?
OH HECK NO!

The only decent publisher out there is living its last days. Damn it, I liked nearly all of their games so far... and now I fully expect them to become a s***stain like all the others.

Probably only if they fall out of favour with Pooh.

As with most Chinese companies, they've got deep links with the state security services and the CCP - so they'll have unlimited access to resources if they're pushing the CCP's foreign policy.

That is unfortunate, I got few games published by Devolver in my wishlist.

While video games need profits to sustain themselves, I'm worried that shareholders will push greater profits to the point that creativity is stifled.

Hell yeah! That's the F spirit...

When next Evergrande (and other Chinese devs in trouble) try to make their next Bond stuff payments. Bubble bursting is coming.....:P

That almost never happens. Quite the contrary is the case 99%+ of the time: the more money a dev/publisher has, the more crap their games are.

There may be rare exceptions once or twice a decade or so, but that rule still holds the vast majority of the time.
