mobutu: "There are circumstances and reasons where preorders can make sense" - quote from the video.
He's just another fool for thinking that way so all his rant is pure hypocrisy.
Yeah and if you heard the rest of the quote he was referring to physical collector's editions which are in limited stock or in some cases where a reviewers need to preload a game because they weren't sent a code by the publisher, so its not hypocritical.

Randalator: No, it's the thread where everyone is bitching and I haven't pre-ordered a game in the history of forever. You meant the Modern Warfare group over on Steam. Rookie mistake.

Ghostbreed: You know. For a guy like you with a title that says "God of Sarcasm", you suck at finding it in others.
I don't think "sarcasm" means what you think it means, because you made a sarcastic remark and I answered with another sarcastic remark.

The fu... I don't know what sarcasm is, yet I clearly succeeded in being sarcastic according to you just now.
Or are you perhaps being sarcastic as well? Ah well. enjoy your pre-order.
Looks like they listened to the feedback:
A post on the Deus Ex website states the publisher and developer Eidos-Montreal said it initially wanted to give customers more choice, but the response indicated it had the opposite effect.

"When it was first conceived, we wanted the program to give you more choice about what you received in terms of pre-order incentives," it explained. "in the past, when we chose those packages ourselves and split them across regions, it has caused frustration.

"We quickly noticed that this [new] approach created even more frustration, resulting in a resounding amount of negative feedback," it added.

According to the statement, all the content that was previously going to be unlocked as specific pre-order number milestones were reached will now be available to all customers that pre-order.

"After much thought and reflection, we decided to close down the program and make all of the incentive content available to anyone who pre-orders Deus Ex: Mankind Divided or purchases a Day 1 edition of the game.

"Additionally, the release date will no longer be changed in accordance with pre-order numbers, and everyone will gain access to the game on February 23rd, 2016."

Mr.Caine:
In other words the abysmal pre-order numbers made us realize that we weren't going to make the shit ton of money that we want before the game is even released. The only feed back they listen to is Benjamins. ;)

What! No more fanboy go pre-order?

How can this be. How can we maintain the stereotype that fanboys are dumb?

Well now the fanboys will flock en masse to pre-order because Squeenix/Eidos Montreal "responded to the feedback" by graciously offering all the extra content to everyone that buys the game in advance.
