Back in the saddle.

Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive, the tactical gunslinging classic, has recently received an update that brings new content plus several convenient improvements. Here's the rundown:

- Help Cooper, Doc, and Kate save a town from outlaw scumbags in a new mission designed to be the game's demo.
- The game's core technology has been updated to work well on systems running Win 7/8/10.
- Mac and Linux support added!
- Additional language options added: English, French, German, Spanish (both for the demo and main game), Italian, Russian (main game only)

Both Desperados games are now 80% off until July 16th, 5pm UTC. If you haven't tried them yet, go ahead and give them a shot. Or two.

wormholewizards: Now please work on Legacy of Kain series for Windows 10. It's pain in the ass to get all those 4 titles running flawlessly.
This update wasn't GOG's doing but THQ Nordic's; it might be better to get Square Enix's attention about Legacy of Kain's state.
Thank you THQ Nordic for refreshing these two games :)

They updated only the first game.

GOG.com: - Additional language options added: English, French, German, Spanish (both for the demo and main game), Italian, Russian (main game only)
Are there any chances to also get the German version of Desperados 2?
This has got me trying D2 again.

I forgot HOW CLUNKY IT IS! :P

OK, than for the first game :)
Halfway through mission 6, where you have to rescue Kate, and the improvements are noticeable, Much smoother, just much easier on the eyes, and as of so far NO CRASHES!!!!

But... WE WANT THE ORIGINAL EXPERIENCE!!! Crashes and all. BRING BACK THE ORIGINALS!!!

This place usually being the home of soft spoken, well balanced argumentation (aka. GOG's forum), I'd better make it clear that this was not a serious comment.

You mean they improved the resolution of the graphics or that the animations are more fluid now?

The do have higher resolutions yes, but it just doesn't seem as grainy, and it's easier to look at. I remember in the 2nd mission when you have to clear out the plantation always getting a headache from it, but that didn't happen this time.

The animations are just as rough though.
This is the kind of legacy support that made me such a loyal customer of GOG in the first place. Thank you!

Thank you. This is interesting. From the description of the update, it seemed that they had worked only on stability issues, but improving the looks really adds more.

Also, kudos to Nordic for including the demo scenario, and for making it in the first place.
thanx GOG for this update! is there a way to lower resolution back to 800 x 600? I personaly don't like very tiny characters and pixel precision clicking.

keep up the good work my favorite -------> GOG!

Themken: Well, I had NO trouble running the game either as I think I played it on XP last time I did... BUT nice for those that do not have Windows XP that they can play it too now. MY problems with the game were more of me being terrible at it.

keeveek: Some people simply need to grasp the idea, GOG's "mission" is to provie old games that work on NEW computers and systems, not briniging old games to work on OLD computers.

using outdated OS's and demand that any software sold today should work on it is ridiculous.

you want old games that are compatible with your old ass rig? But retail on eBay and quit wasting our time.

(this comment is not aimed directly at anyone, I just quoted you guys for convenience)

--> even if i can buy a new good pc , and i will be able to build one soon, but not today, maybe not this year but it is within range, does that mean i should buy all those new games i do not like ? just because my new pc will be much stronger? :D i guess not....
