Denuvo is sued for using pirated software? Oh, the irony...

From that post, sourced by 'a russian post', it clearly says they're *probably going to get* sued, not that they are already.

Also, it wouldn't be for 'pirated software', it would be for inappropriate use of it since it would seem they do have a license for it but not one that covers the use they're using it for.

It'd still be pretty dumb if they let this happen though and the vmware change in their most recent version does give reason to think it might be true at least.

If it turns out to be true their software seems to have changed to an inferior version not worth using at the moment and they should suck it up and get back to the drawing board.

The bigger irony is when players, for example, complain about the lofty price of a game (largely the vastly more expensive Triple AAA variants, or similarly-priced ones) and the splicing up of everything into DLC chunks, where you are charged a far costlier piece by piece per value, the usual defenders will be all yelling like, you should stop being a cheapskate, pay up the full cost, and the developers need to eat (but you don't?).. etc..

However, it's okay when developers desire the same thing! (ha!) Denuvo is in trouble because they found the enterprise license (for Vmprotect) too expensive (Hey, don't their fellow software developers need to eat too!), and want to pay the minimum they can get away with. Double standards, especially coming from someone with a Pro-DRM/Profit stance.
