TLDR: Doom Eternal was patched to include a kernel level anti-cheat made by Denuvo. Looks like a new trend, after that CS-GO/Overwatch clone that seems to have considerable backlash.
It's nice to don't have multiplayer cheating but this is probably a bit over the line in my opinion. It also makes a big precedent!
As Comissary James Gordon asked Batman, what about escalation?
