joelandsonja: Does anyone know why GOG doesn't offer the option for users to delete your own games from your library? I was under the impression that GOG prides itself on giving you more control over your games, yet they don't even give you the option to remove you own games. It's sort of like buying something from your local shop and the clerk says to you "remember, you can't throw that away once you buy it". There's no excuse for this on GOG's part, this should be a built in feature by now.
Before yo start your topics, do you have a BIG think first, and then also do a forum search?
This topic has been discussed here many times.
And really, with a bit of thinking, following the logic, you could no doubt sufficiently answer your query yourself.
Start with thinking about all the possible ramifications.
And also reason, where GOG would offer that option, if it was not an issue.
Anyway, last I heard, GOG if convinced enough can do it on request. They would of course warn you that it would be final, and that in 5 years time for instance, you cannot change your mind and want the game back, despite the fact you actually paid for it here once. You also would not get any refund or discount.
GOG would also need to cover themselves for basic commercial laws etc, likely to be different in different regions.
So if you really feel the need, just hide the damn game.
joelandsonja: The reason why this bothers me so much is because whenever I have to reinstall my games on a new PC, I am forced to sift through an endless barrage of garbage in my library in order to install the games that I actually want to play. I can't help feeling that this is completely unacceptable on GOG's part. PLEASE GIVE US THE OPTION TO DELETE OUR GAMES!
Is that once every five or so years?
And that's what you get by using Galaxy, I presume ... probably in the wrong way.
You must also be using automation, and having Galaxy install all your games ... ridiculous. Just install each game as you need to ... better still, use GOG properly and use the Offline Installers.
Instead of criticism of GOG, you should be having a good look at yourself, and your perceived notions and behavior.
Honestly ......
P.S. This is the first time in all these years, that I've seen this particular reinstall.complaint by any of GOG's many customers. That should tell you something. ;)
