Pretty sure I heard it from you.

And I know I messed it up. :P I didn't want to tell the whole thing. I just posted the one line and hoped someone in here got the reference.

xiomaster: Is there a way to delete games from my account that I no longer want on the account? I only see an option to hide. I have had several free titles that I have gotten during promotions that I no longer want associated with my account,

Lifthrasil: Why?

XYCat: what's the point?
These are exactly the questions, I ask myself, whenever I read:

"How to delete games from my account?" - Just hide'em. Problem(?) solved.
or
"How do I delete my account?" - Just stop using it. Problem(?) solved.

Unless you use the hide function for something else, like games you've finished. Or if you want to share your profile but don't want certain games to show up there (hidden games show up on your profile). Or perhaps you don't want your information to remain on GOG and be searchable by others or the Facebook data collection agency. I'm not saying these are concerns for me, but they may be concerns for others. As to why anyone wants anything done, it's really none of our business.

True.
But if anyone asks the question in public, I guess I'm allowed to wonder about the question?

It became our business when it was posted in a publicly accessible forum.

Personally, I don't like the idea that games can be deleted from libraries for any reason other than a reversed payment or due to a rare IP dispute. The ability to remove a game at our request means that it's presumably possible in some fashion for somebody to break into somebody else's account and ask for games to be deleted. Presumably, there's some sort of safeguard involved, but still.

Eh. He asked how. That doesn't entitle anyone to know why except perhaps the GOG staff. I mean it's not worth arguing over so I concede any further points. I was making my statement of opinion. We don't need to know why to tell them how since the how is the exact same regardless of the why.

He asked here rather than PMing GOG. Asking things like this in public definitely does give us the right to know why, it's the only way to know if there's other possibilities.

Plus, it's pretty fucking weird to have games deleted from a person's library.

I don't disagree. At least not with that last bit. I'll let the rest go because as I said: not worth arguing over. I'm not the police to tell people to mind their own business. I said my peace. I'm good. :)

Anyhow... Back to trying to call gog to account for their half-assed website.

lol, remember when those forum titles were redirecting people to random web pages, that was awesome.

hedwards: Probably doesn't want anybody knowing about the really embarrassing game that he bought when sharing the list of games he has.
Maybe adult ones? There's only like a few, mostly Leisure Suit Larry, Softporn Adventure, or Lula Sexy Empire...

Well, then there's Huniepop...

But i say fuck what other people think about your library.
Before i built my library to the state it is today, i wanted to buy and keep around, only the games i was certain to play through and beat fully. I once asked support to delete one game for me and they did! Even though they were puzzled, just like people in this thread. Then, after some time, that very same game went free regularly, or as a gift with buying other games and i got it again... From then on, i decided to keep it and started collecting more games, even those that i might never play.

Contact support and they will do it for you! You must be really certain, though. Game will never come back.
