UPDATE: Heads up! There are 24h left, so now is the time to take advantage of the amazing deals and upgrade your collections. Eyes on the price, Boo, eyes on the price!

Years ago, the Baldur's Gate series changed the way we look at gaming and the scope of what was considered possible. Even now, the legacy continues through the Enhanced Editions – thanks to the hard work and years of updates to keep the inimitable Infinity Engine living on.

It's the work on the Enhanced Editions that made Siege of Dragonspear possible – the just-released, massive expansion to the timeless classic, available only for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.

"The team at Beamdog was able to breathe a new life into the Infinity Engine classics." says Greg Tito, Communications Director for Dungeons & Dragons "We're proud to recognize their excellent work in offering the best possible experience and support for these legendary titles. We want these to become the definitive editions – featuring both the enhanced and classic versions of the games."

On April 29, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition will be expanded to include the classic versions – each becoming the Definitive Edition Bundle and not available for purchase separately. If you already own the classics on GOG.com, the games currently on your shelf won't be affected.

"We're excited to take our commitment and support to Baldur's Gate and GOG fans to the next level and humbled to work with such great partners. The Definitive Edition Bundle will give every Baldur's Gate fan what they're looking for" – concludes Cameron Tofer, Beamdog COO.

In the near future, we're also looking forward to full GOG Galaxy support for achievements in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition – as well as in the Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear expansion.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will be 75% off until April 4 11:59 PM PDT / April 5 2:59 AM EDT/ 7:59 BST and 60% off until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 60% discount for Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 85% discount for owners of the original saga will last until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST.

Maxvorstadt: Motherfucking right, man! So, for those who own the classic versions, this is a good deal. But for those who don`t own the classic versions, they had better bought it in the Insomnia sale.

sunshinecorp: People not owning the originals is a thing? Huh...
Well, the EE games offer more gameplay, better difficulty options and, most important for me, more Characterlevels. I love RPGs mostly because of levelling up my character(s). That`s why I love games like Torchlight. 100 Characterlevels, wow!! :-)
Something seems to be broken.

I've got all classic and all enhanced editions and if
I check BG1-EE, I get 75% off
with BG1-EE + BG2-EE checked I get 67% off
with all three boxes ckecked I get only 65% off.

oO?

phaolo: Oh f**k me, should I really spend another 9$ for these not-that-necessary EE editions? O_o
Yes. They're very well done and at that price it's a bargain. Also, for the new expansion.

Go to the checkout page and all three will become 85%.

All of that can also be done with the originals, using mods. :)

GOG seems to have updated the OP with that info, thankfully.

Well, but then I had to find these mods, download them and install them correctly, which sometimes can be tricky.
Hahahahahahahahahaha!! That's the best April Fools I've seen today!!! And you were preparing it since last week during the Insomnia Sale! Sigh...

Anyway, if I hadn't gotten this bundle during the sale now I'd be paying almost the same, as the original Icewind Dale isn't available for Linux and so I never bought it. I know it's not GOG's fault, but good way to screw Linux users. :X

InfraSuperman: Maybe the originals are still outselling the enhanced versions and they wanted to do something against that.
I'm sure it's mostly about money.

It may also be to reduce confusion. I can imagine that there will be people buying the expansion without owning the enhanced edition and being surprised that they can't play it.

I won't be surprised if the question will still be asked. ;)
high rated
In other words: The original versions still sell good and the enhanced editions sell too badly so they have to remove the original versions from the market?

At least they do not make the original versions completely unavailable as other publishers do it.

It's not? It is on Steam. So I'm sure it'll come here.
EDIT: Sorry, thought you meant the EE.

Okay, I might consider 'upgrading'... if I can get my character from Baldur's Gate Trilogy (who is currently about half way through the BG1 portion of the campaign) into the EE. Is this possible?
Dragonsiege manuals are not up, you can get them here:

https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/49871/get-your-siege-of-dragonspear-manuals-here

Looks at rep...damn me, I have not written anything since Insomnia and lost 30+ rep...

Not the original. Technically none of the original versions were available on Linux. GOG has a wine-wrapped Linux version of PT, BG1 & BG2.
