UPDATE: Heads up! There are 24h left, so now is the time to take advantage of the amazing deals and upgrade your collections. Eyes on the price, Boo, eyes on the price!

Years ago, the Baldur's Gate series changed the way we look at gaming and the scope of what was considered possible. Even now, the legacy continues through the Enhanced Editions – thanks to the hard work and years of updates to keep the inimitable Infinity Engine living on.

It's the work on the Enhanced Editions that made Siege of Dragonspear possible – the just-released, massive expansion to the timeless classic, available only for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.

"The team at Beamdog was able to breathe a new life into the Infinity Engine classics." says Greg Tito, Communications Director for Dungeons & Dragons "We're proud to recognize their excellent work in offering the best possible experience and support for these legendary titles. We want these to become the definitive editions – featuring both the enhanced and classic versions of the games."

On April 29, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition will be expanded to include the classic versions – each becoming the Definitive Edition Bundle and not available for purchase separately. If you already own the classics on GOG.com, the games currently on your shelf won't be affected.

"We're excited to take our commitment and support to Baldur's Gate and GOG fans to the next level and humbled to work with such great partners. The Definitive Edition Bundle will give every Baldur's Gate fan what they're looking for" – concludes Cameron Tofer, Beamdog COO.

In the near future, we're also looking forward to full GOG Galaxy support for achievements in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition – as well as in the Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear expansion.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will be 75% off until April 4 11:59 PM PDT / April 5 2:59 AM EDT/ 7:59 BST and 60% off until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 60% discount for Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 85% discount for owners of the original saga will last until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST.

classicgogger: No, it's the page that isn't working correctly.

Maxvorstadt: I went to the checkout page, it`s 18.87 Euros, trust me! :-)

sunshinecorp: It was cheaper than 85%?!

Yezemin: In the Insomnia all three games were 75% off. Now only the first BG is 75% off, the other two have a smaller discount.

You only get 85% off if you already own the original games which Maxvorstadt obviously didn't.
Motherfucking right, man! So, for those who own the classic versions, this is a good deal. But for those who don`t own the classic versions, they had better bought it in the Insomnia sale.

Duh, but that's specifically stated in the OP. That man shouldn't be allowed in our courtroom!

DeMignon: Sorry GOG, but my ass! Lots of people where waiting for exact this bundle during the Insomnia sale to show up, which got the rarest appearance of all offers. Not only they wasted their time, those "lucky" also look like idiots now, since the same package is currently 85% off (for a lot of GOG regulars) instead of 75% :-(

Undoubtedly a nice offer for all waiting for these games, but in respect of the insomnia sale a bad strategy, causing some disappointment now.
thats not the first time that such things happened, i recall the same shit with unreal bundle, rebellion bundle, nordic bundle over the last 2 years. there were probably much more.

People not owning the originals is a thing? Huh...

Sad to see the originals go. Not a good sign at all. :(
Why? Beamdog bulllying you into this move?

I only said that for me it was cheaper to buy it in the Insomnia sale, not more or less!
Oh f**k me, should I really spend another 9$ for these not-that-necessary EE editions? O_o

Nope, I don't look like idiot, sorry. The 85 % discount only applies if you already own the classic versions here on GOG (I don't). So I'm perfectly happy with the 75% Insomnia discount I got on all 3 EEs, as if I had to buy them now I'd have to pay 15% more for 2 of them.

Also, what sunshinecorp said:

Well... a sale isn't a competition of who's going to get what cheaper. You should be glad offers such as these are made and perhaps more patient with sales if you want to get them (instead of under the pressure of an insomnia sales gimmick). Don't be uncool!

Why are people mad at GOG for the discount? Isn't it generally Devs/Publishers that set the discount price and not the store?

If you ever want to play the DLC for Baldur's Gate you will have to have the enhanced edition.

They're not being removed. They're being bundled with the enhanced editions. And yes, it's almost certain that Beamdog asked for this.

Well, if you want the newly-released expansion, Baldur's Gate 1 Enhanced Edition doesn't become not-that-necessary anymore.

Maybe the originals are still outselling the enhanced versions and they wanted to do something against that.
