It's the work on the Enhanced Editions that made <span class="bold">Siege of Dragonspear</span> possible – the just-released, massive expansion to the timeless classic, available only for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.

Maighstir: Because some people think mods are difficult to install, others don't use Windows but simultaneously don't want to mess with Wine or GemRB, and a third group do know how to correctly mess around with mods and/or how to get the thing running on non-native platforms, but just figure a single native installer is much more convenient.

Also, some people want to try out expansions only built for the EE.
And some people simply like the EEs more than the originals. :-)

Picked this one up (BG:EE) right away when it went on special sale. Hard for me to ignore even though I have the main and have never played it. Decided against getting BGII:EE and ID:EE since I have never played those as well, and well, I just spent to much and have to much to play still anyhow, LOL.

That's me. I like the interface changes, and the faster save/load times enough that I have a hard time playing the originals anymore. Linux native is also a major factor.

I don't think they should be bundled though. People should still be able to decide which one they want.

ValamirCleaver: If one really doesn't want anything to do with the EEs it's still possible to buy just the original games exactly how I did when I repurchased them about 10 years ago.

Im not seeing digital editions there, let me tell you, the only reason I did not resort to piracy to get the original games was because I had the option to buy the cheap digital versions avalible in this site, no EE nonsense, no shipping costs, and no dealings with the absurd customs system of my country.

Im pretty sure that future customes in situations like mine will have no option other than torrenting if they dont want to pay the extra buck on the EE editions just to get to what they really want.

I mostly just like to spice up my normally friendly self and found that the EE's of the Infinity Engine games make an awesome topic for it.

Hi everyone. I usually spend most of my time lurking here, but I'd like to ask a favour. It appears that having a transgendered cleric and a joke line by Minsc has greatly offended the sensibilities of some people. This has spurred these people into action, causing them to decide this is the worst game of all time and give it a zero review score on Steam, GoG and meta critic. Now, I'd like to ask for that favour. If you are playing the game and having a good time, please consider posting a positive review to balance out the loud minority which is currently painting a dark picture for new players.

Seems about right, you lump all the critism together, and then appeal to sympathy to skim some good reviews out of some people with good intentions, strangely popular with developers these days.

Im seeing complaints about the UI, the new graphics, the multiplayer not working properly, diffulty inbalances and bugs on top of just a line of dialog and a character.

Just started BG 1 EE. It does look kind of funky but I guess I'll get used to it. It sounds stupid to ask but is it locked at that resolution?

Two things: you can zoom in and out with the mouse wheel, and there is an option on the video settings for scaling the ui. If you have high-ish resolution toggling the scale ui option will make the ui smaller.
