UPDATE: Heads up! There are 24h left, so now is the time to take advantage of the amazing deals and upgrade your collections. Eyes on the price, Boo, eyes on the price!

Years ago, the Baldur's Gate series changed the way we look at gaming and the scope of what was considered possible. Even now, the legacy continues through the Enhanced Editions – thanks to the hard work and years of updates to keep the inimitable Infinity Engine living on.

It's the work on the Enhanced Editions that made Siege of Dragonspear possible – the just-released, massive expansion to the timeless classic, available only for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.

"The team at Beamdog was able to breathe a new life into the Infinity Engine classics." says Greg Tito, Communications Director for Dungeons & Dragons "We're proud to recognize their excellent work in offering the best possible experience and support for these legendary titles. We want these to become the definitive editions – featuring both the enhanced and classic versions of the games."

On April 29, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition will be expanded to include the classic versions – each becoming the Definitive Edition Bundle and not available for purchase separately. If you already own the classics on GOG.com, the games currently on your shelf won't be affected.

"We're excited to take our commitment and support to Baldur's Gate and GOG fans to the next level and humbled to work with such great partners. The Definitive Edition Bundle will give every Baldur's Gate fan what they're looking for" – concludes Cameron Tofer, Beamdog COO.

In the near future, we're also looking forward to full GOG Galaxy support for achievements in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition – as well as in the Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear expansion.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will be 75% off until April 4 11:59 PM PDT / April 5 2:59 AM EDT/ 7:59 BST and 60% off until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 60% discount for Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 85% discount for owners of the original saga will last until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST.

I really wish you guys wouldn`t waste time on putting in achievements. Spend that time improving the mechanics and functionality.

People never used to `need` achievements like babies getting brownie stars, playing the game and accomplishing stuff in the game was always achievment enough.

I find it patronising and sad that so many kids can`t play a game without stupid brownie stars `achievements` of
N-O-T-H-I-N-G.

Shendue: Some of us also care about other people, you know. What about those who stayed awake for DAYS to have an opportunity to get one (that, i shouldn't remember you, was scarcely offered on purpose to induce people into staying awake the whole time and eventually buy other stuff) and then got this big middle finger right in their face?
Nah, I'm sorry but i cannot agree with you. This is pure trolling.
First of all, if someone really "stayed awake for DAYS" just for a random internet sale then he clearly has no job & social life so I find it hard to care for him.

Second, most games showed up more or less around the same time every day, and people made various scripts telling you when that time is, so it wasn't that hard to predict when the game you're interested in will show up and wait for it (I missed the D&D bundle the first day, trying to figure out if all 3 games are EE so I went to the site the very next day around that time and got it without any problems). No need for anyone to stay awake "for DAYS".

to induce people into staying awake the whole time and eventually buy other stuff
Seems like you just discovered how promotions work. :-P

then got this big middle finger right in their face
What middle finger? I don't own the classic versions on GOG so the Insomnia sale was a good deal for me, but even if I did, I would not feel any envy or holding grudge (the way you think people should feel) for missing the bigger discount now, because: I had a great time at the Insomnia when I managed to catch it AND I realize this thing, very nicely put by sunshinecorp:

Well... a sale isn't a competition of who's going to get what cheaper. You should be glad offers such as these are made and perhaps more patient with sales if you want to get them (instead of under the pressure of an insomnia sales gimmick). Don't be uncool!
There could be a bigger discount in future (like if BG3 comes out some day, or if they make EE for Neverwinter Nights/IWD 2), when they put the previous games at -90% each. I don't know about you, but if that happens I won't be mad or envious or feeling they trolled me earlier. I would be just glad that I already have all the games for dirty cheap and that more people will discover these gems.

tldr: Don't be uncool and speaking of middle fingers when you should be thanking GOG for giving more people the chance to get these great games for cheap!

geez trying to save $$$ but as others have said for 3 bucks each I guess these enhanced versions are worth a go...I hope. reviews are saying both bg 1 and 2 are patched up and aren't problematic anymore...

Spectre: How does the multiplayer work for these games? How easy is it to pick up players or do you need to organise the party outside the game.
I've never played multiplayer myself, but I know that it is as if you play the single player story in cooperative mode. I think you can play with up to six players each controlling one character, or you can have less players each controlling an equal or different number of characters. Also the player who creates the game has to assign permissions to each player regarding what actions they can do, most notably who is able to pause/unpause the game. But I have no idea if you can at some point decide to continue playing alone, and how the saves work

Hey, we still love you and hope you won't get banned again until New Year at least! <3

chromeneon: ...Don't be uncool and speaking of middle fingers instead of thanking GOG for giving everyone the chance to get these great games for cheap!
...
I love your ingenuity, but, flash news: gog isn't a benefic institute, it's an online shop. They are not "giving everyone the chance to get games for cheap", they are discounting items to sell more of them (or rather, better say the right owners of the property allow them to). It''s a shop. A shop i like, yet still a shop.

I usually don't give hugs to shopkeeepers if they put a 50% discount on a product, but i definetely question their policy if they actively encourage dozens of people to camp right out of their store for a copy of a very sought after videogame at a huge discount and then a week later they put a bazillion copies of the same game at a even higher discount on sale for everyone. You are missing the point because you are seeing gog as a community of nice people loving you, but you should put things in perspective: imagine the same thing at a Gamestop store, for example. People would be returning their games and shouting in the face of the clerks if something similar happened in a physical store.

And, yes, people may have a job and social life and STILL try to grab a copy. That's exactly why I missed the game while it was on sale, because it always came out when I was working or helping my family otherwise.
Oh, and you are completely wrong about the predictability of the thing. As it has been stated SEVERAL TIMES in the tracking topic, they purposedly made the sale completely randomic this time, to avoid people predicting anything. They even purposedly removed the "last round" warning that was there in the previous Insomnia sale. The last batch of bundles was sold TWO DAYS after the previous one. Predicatible indeed. Eh, XD

But, hey, everyone is entitled to their opinions, so no problem. What I really wonder is why exactly you are so worried about mine. It's just an opinion, and a legitimate one at it, it's not like i'm leading an angry mob over gog's offices with torches and forks. As a customer, it's in my rights to tell them when I don't appreciate some of their policies. And, again, I'm a customer, not a mindless gog cultist with an "I luv gog" t-shirt. They do a LOT of good things, and a few (very) questionable ones (like when they threw out of the window their "one price for everyone" policy, remember?). I'll always praise them for the good ones and criticize them for the questionable decisions. I'm always a very vocal person about my opinions, on the internet just like in real life.

It's funny...I still have my original boxes somewhere....and played them for mmh max 10 minutes.
Guess this games are just not my thing.

Shendue: You are missing the point because you are seeing gog as a community of nice people loving you,
Nope, I am not. (I can you what I [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/general/what_kind_of_community_do_we_want/post216]wrote in other threads to people who wanted to build & develop a "community" here in this sad mashup board).

On the contrary, exactly because I realize GOG is a shop, I don't feel trolled or middle fingered like you do when I get worse discount than someone else because of them hitting a better promo. Indeed, they are just a shop, these are THEIR sales, and these are just games we're talking about. No need for anyone to feel mad or trolled just because someone else scored a whooping 15% better discount. Such things are bound to happen in future too, you know. It won't be good for your nerves if you feel like that every time, just saying :-)

And I am not "worried" about your opinion, I am just as vocal about mine as you're.about yours. And when someone implies that people should feel trolled and holding grudges when GOG is making a better promo, and I feel the opposite, I have to stand up and say it.

Well, I do. Especially if the aforementioned promo comes a week after the previous one.
But I definitely didn't imply anything, as I don't tell people how they should feel. I'm merely stating that gog's behaviour with this promo didn't feel right to me. Again, I'm not leading angry mobs, just stating a personal opinion. I don't remember ever writing people to riot or holding grudges.
Again, I have no problem with your opinion, as if you disagree that's perfectly fine, but you really seem overly concerned about mine. :)

Kind of a you-know-what move to do this so soon after the insomnia deal, but on the other hand it's nice of Beamdog to at least announce they're doing this and make a deal out of it.

Shendue: you really seem overly concerned about mine. :)
How so? Because of me speaking up about something I strongly disagree with, instead of keeping quiet? I can assure you I hold no special feelings towards you :-D

But I can see why you feel upset, really.

And because I was just editing my post while you were typing, here is how I'm gonna finish my part in this discussion:

Lol. Now that's just projecing your own feelings on someone else. I'm merely answering to your points, and I'm not upset at all, I can assure you. I'm at my desk calmly writing on my keyboard while my family is cooking, just waiting for dinner to be ready.

I was editing my previous comment because I took my time to check the post you linked me and I wanted to add that it has, in fact, absolutely nothing to do with gog being "nice" to people "giving good opportunities" like you wrote, instead of being a commercial business that gives discounts because it's beneficial to their business.

It has more to do with PEOPLE on gog's forum not being a community, which not only I think it's completely untrue, but I also think this one is probably the best online gaming community on the world wide web.
The amount of work from people like sachys, moonshineshadow or foxworks for the benefit of the others, the incredible things made by barefoot_monkey and adalia, the amount of love for tinyE expressed after a supposed ban attempt, the generosity of giveaways and the general fun that transpires from the forums completely deny your point.

Anyway, I don't want to brag this on forever, and I have to go eat in a few minutes. I think I already expressed my opinions.
Have fun with games, and no harsh feelings. ;)

chromeneon: What's with the negative attitude of some people here? "Trolling"? It's made exactly for people like you, who could't catch the Insomnia sale for one reason or another. Be thankful! :-)

the morale is to never ever buy something, because it may become cheaper in a different sale at some other time.
