Did I miss this game? I thought it was on here not too long ago but was it removed?

All have been taken off this site and the Cinemaware Anthology collection on steam has gone too.

I have nothing to add to the conversation but just wanted to marry up my Danger Mouse avatar with Penfold above.

Doc0075: Pinfold above.
I guess that must be Penfold's son, or younger brother ?...

Typo :(
Don't worry, you didn't miss much. Defender of the Crown was literally nothing more than a graphical showcase for the Amiga, not an actual game.

Better get the game while it's discounted. Because ZP rarely has sales.

Well, if (in your not so humble opinion) "DotC" was "nothing more than a graphical showcase for the Amiga"...then what was it for the systems that were lacking the graphical abilities of the Amiga?

A mediocre game. Lacking the depth of a Koei sim, while having no strong central mechanic (being a glorified collection of minigames camouflaged as a strategy game) leaves it without any reason to exist aside as a graphical showcase.

I see.
And what about the thousands of players, who actually enjoyed their experience, playing this "graphical showcase for the Amiga", across all systems that weren't Amigas and therefore couldn't be "blinded" by Amiga's graphics?

They all stupid?
Too easily satisfied by "bling bling" on a system, that wasn't their own?

Thank god, they have you now, to explain them all, what easily fooled morons they were (and probably still are).

That certainly can be said.
Then again, the game has a sequel, and altogether three remakes, so at least someone has been moved enough by that.

The same thing can be said about many other games of course. For instance, some of the CD-ROM games were impressive showcases of the (back then) new media, but looking back are not necessarily brilliant games otherwise.

Yeah, I know. But even in historical context, Myst was pushing things forwards. On the other hand, you'd be hard pressed to find a live action full motion video game that has had a lasting impact.
