As you could see. I don't hesitate to speak in English when needed (Thanks DeepL).

But when gog proposes French among the languages. I think that we should assume with a minimum service.

A few years ago, they announced gog in French for the first time (that was a long time ago). So now they have to assume that they have French customers. Steam and others do it well.

I suspect that gog doesn't have the same means as the others. But it doesn't cost much to offer the news in our local language (even with an automatic translation as it seems to do). We're even willing to wait a few extra hours if we have to.

For the support. I understand that it can cost money to hire someone but again. You have to assume that they have French customers now. It's not up to us to make the effort when gog has offered us a french store for years, with a french support. Gog can't ask the customer "excuse me but now we don't manage french".


Finally, I would like to stress to the Gog team that my goal is not to criticize, but to improve things. I love you guys, you've released some amazing games that I thought I'd never see on gog (Dishonored, The Talos Principle, Shadow of, Skyrim etc... And for that I will always be grateful.

For that I manage (when I have free time) the french community, to help you.

I don't think for anything professional, you want to rely on automated translation services. They are just not there yet.

That's an unceptable code of conduct, beceause some of your customers ain't able to write properly in french ; throwing this in the face of french customers in this case isn't a good way either....

Your company should accept this is the result of the poor decision made.

As for myself i use english because :

there're more users who speak english than french.

With all respect i could have, even if i agree in the general forum users write in english, your compagny must face the consequences and certainly don't blame their french users which could have issue to write in english.

No, but you certainly aware many users make efforts to speak in english in the general forums (even if its not their native language), alas others language sections are way less populated so... (45 pages on my screen for french section / 1406 for the general in english...) My point was : what about users who aint able to properly read / write in english a post ?. That's not fair, and if i follow you, they should stay in their language section .... shame.. So in the end who GOG will hear the most ? numbers of pages speak for themselves.

I agree its not ideal if a user speak another language there.... but this ... no... just read posts from french users, its seems to me GOG promote english above all others language.... I don't care too much because i am able to understand writing english, but i think about those who have troubles and your company should take care much more about others languages ....period. Where's the French CM ?

GoG seems quite dedicated to letting the forum rot at this point it would be a kindness to shut it down.

angelblue's not just speaking of the forums. The most recent newspost on the French-language version of the the front page is from the 25th of April -- a week and a half ago.

Is it possible that GOG lost their last French employee or he or she went on vacation?

I'm making a summary of the current situation.
To my knowledge. They still have a few employees who speak French. But they all already have a job. So they can't take care of us. And I understand.
But the concern is that we don't have a community manager anymore.
So we have been abandoned for more than 1 year, maybe 2.
I still hope that GOG will find us a "Comunity Manager" one day.

I'd also like to point out that we still don't have anyone who speaks French in support. Currently the support makes the effort (sometimes) to speak with "google translate" to help us. And the support staff is pleasant. But it's not perfect because of the language barrier (and the delay in response. But then, we all know the situation. It concerns everyone I think).

Anyway. As a volunteer, I do my best to help the French community. But at my level, there is not much I can do. Only to alert GOG not to forget us.

If there are GOG employees who follow the thread. It would be nice to give us the situation concerning us. Thanks
