Ancient-Red-Dragon: More meddling would only make things even worse for GOG, and tick off even more of its already-angry customer base.

Telika: Oh I agree. In fact I don't understand how, after so many years off seeing the community idolizing trump and putin, GOG still manages to overestimate it.

I mean, in this very thread, the OP about "a 100% donation bundle" is immediately answered by an accusation of "cashing in". That's the level to expect. It would be safer for GOG to make a charity bundle to fund more russian missiles and a golden putin statue.
Obvious bait but I'll bite the thing is most of the community doesn't seem to actualy like let alone idolize iether.. .. Usually if anything on Trump matter I have noticed on here is going'' Trump was right it seems'' or ''using similar talking pionts'' because of things he said is true or pionting out factual matters about what he seemed truly interested in doing rather

Putin I hjarderly ever seen talk about him in my ventures on the forums till the Russian sanctions happened which currently I equate to mostly trolls and people trying to be edgy at this time ..

KiNgBrAdLeY7: If the 45th was still in the office, all of this would have never happened. Guy wanted better relationships and foreign policy affairs with Russia, not poke them in the eye right underneath their nose, by (ab)using a foreign country through selling alliance and fake promises, at that.
Hahaaa, really? Trump would have done everything he could for Putin, Trump even congratulated Putin and called him smart for invading Ukraine. And fake promises are just what Trump does.

KasperHviid: I'd say the combination of getting lots of stuff on the cheap, while also helping a worthy cause, is one heck of an incentive. It's basically letting me be greedy and virtuous simultaniously, giving my brain an overload of pleasure chemicals.

This method seem to work pretty well. The itch bundle raised $6,370,557. Isn't that what matters most here?
It is but the OP seems to be asking for a bundle as a prerequisite to donating; it smelt a bit too strongly of entitlement to me.

Edit: I see gog's pathetic neg trolls still haven't managed to get a life doing anything remotely worthwhile *yawn*.

LordCephy: If your goal is to donate, it's not hard to find charities.

Ice_Mage: Both the itch.io bundle and the Humble Bundle... bundle are highly discounted, considering the base price of the games. Directly donating to charity wouldn't net OP a mountain of games on the cheap.
The purchase period for the Bundle for Ukraine has passed, so this one cannot be bought any longer.

As for the Humble bundle, it's primarily Steam keys - including games that were part of the itch bundle or can be purchased on GOG. It might be worth it if you could select the version (Steam, GOG, Epic) depending on which store(s) the game is available on. Since you're locked into Steam with thus bundle, it's not worth it if you're not into Steam.

Also there's really nothing wrong with donating to a charity directly.

Right. Next time sirs Clinton and Bush visit a holy place to pay respect for innocent victims, just tell them to do the same for the victims that resulted out of their personal politics and militant decisions, in order for their act to feel like more realistic and less vile to other people (of age and with memory). Not every president is a nasty warmonger. Even the currect one, was the one to suggest the bombing of Belgrade (1998). "First invasion in europe post WW2", yes? Evil Russians, no? Good american butchers of the past? Bad Trump wanting peace? I got it right?

Then again, there were Hunter's (economic and whatnot) scandals (many years "cooking" and brewing a situation there) and A3OB. I won't even touch the bio labs and the Minsk agreement. Just research a little bit. Everybody can. And take extra care to help the normal civilians fleeing from there! Not the bald people riddled with "strange" tattoos, who try to escape by dressing like poor civilians.

Huh, that's an interesting mix of replies. Thanks everybody. Yes direct donations would do the job, yes, surely there is enough space to impute a greedy hypocrisy. And yes, it's an overkill in terms of chemicals "be greedy and virtuous simultaniously". I did buy Zorin OS Pro for example. They donate 100% to the ukraine if you buy it within a certain time window. It feels good, I give and I gain. I think in the end, the result is, money goes to ukraine people, which is good, even if some greedy ones may "profit" from it - the overall result would be "doing good".

I would like to disagree. Many people do struggle financially. They may have the wish to buy game "abc" and so on, but can't get themselves to "make the move". BUT if you offer said game as a charitable donation, that hurdle loses height. Does it matter if I buy it than or later. YES. I get the same game (greed), but my money will also help people in need (doing good). It's a win-win situation on that front AND good (or at least) pr for gog.

On a sidenote "covfefe" whoever feels like they need to be leaded by a narcistic demagog and neurotic liar who was befriended with a sex offender (Epstein) (propably a sex offender himself "grab em by the ***) and whoms word lead to the death of people (2021 United States Capitol attack) - may wisdom find it's way to you. In a true democracy, character and ability should win, not money, prominence and lies.

Agreed. It's funny how many of these people lack the critical thinking skills to realize that all of this money is going straight to the rich government officials and corrupt politicians in Ukraine. Not a single penny will go to the people.

Yup , maybe 10% will reach those who need it
at least that was the statistic last time I checked out these "charities"

I already posted this in another thread but I guess it fits better in here:

The developers of Chernobylite just launched a special charity pack. It contains 4 wallpapers in various resolutions, 2 posters and 1 thank you card with the signatures of the dev team. All profits of it will be donated to The Pure Heart Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization which is working hard, distributing humanitarian and medical aid for communities and victims directly affected by the war in Ukraine.

Here on GOG it's not listed as a DLC but rather as a standalone game, which means everyone can buy it, not only current owners of Chernobylite.

So if you'd like to donate to victims of war and get a little something in return, here's your chance.

https://www.gog.com/game/chernobylite_charity_pack
This thread has turned into a sad example of trash talk and toxicity.

That is a good point but it still seems to be holding out on making a donation & encouraging gog to jump on the bandwagon for personal gain. I struggle financially myself, I've donated & now can't afford the humble bundle but I don't regret it or care.
Given the choice of getting nothing back or getting something back I can see why most would opt for the former but it came across in this instance as "companies are giving away ridiculously good value bundles, make one too."
The recipients don't care I'm sure but holding out on a charitable 'donation' for a better deal seems weird.

Edit: one good thing about these bundles though is they do encourage people that have already donated to squeeze out a little more.
