We just built new gaming rigs and Assassin's Creed Odyssey continues to CTD after just a few minutes no matter what we try, and we've tried everything.

We really like the game and would buy it again from you if it recieved your "make it actually work on new hardware" treatment.

You really need to send this request to Ubisoft, who's all for locking down with all kinds of DRM and whose most recent game on GOG is Rayman Origins, from 2012.

What kind of system do you have?
Maybe an intel 13th or 14th generation cpu?
Those cause 100% chip failure i heard. Count me lucky that i didn't buy it

You'll get a weird ersatz farming sim, and three distinct "Not Balatro" games and like it.

But more to the point, there's not really been much activity from Ubisoft's front. They've not even coughed up Grow Up/Grow Home from their weird indie phase, or most of the games before the "white toilet" logo.

Ubisoft would have to walk back on their push for "a future where you shall own nothing (including your digital copies of games) and be comfortable with that" first.
Because, you know, this sort of clashes with releasing on GOG, DRM-free, offline installers and all that.

Indeed. (Also filing that under great reasons for boycott.)

"One of the things we saw is that gamers are used to, a little bit like DVD, having and owning their games. That's the consumer shift that needs to happen. They got comfortable not owning their CD collection or DVD collection. That's a transformation that's been a bit slower to happen [in games]. [...] So it's about feeling comfortable with not owning your game."
HAHAHA... ROFLOL GoG can't even get AC 2!

In all seriousness, i would love to see Odyssey, and Origin, and Rogue, and Black Flag... Honestly i don't get Ubisoft at all! For example; last winter they had Assassin's Creed Syndicate on a giveaway! A game i would have (back then) paid full price for, if they would simultaneously release it here and probably wouldn't be the only one. But that's ubishit's "just pirate" mentality i guess.

Ubisoft stock double in the day the article was posted.

Missed chance to triple the stock value with some random "IA" here and there.
I am pretty sure Odyssey still have Denuvo!
Who knows. Maybe AC:O was rejected because it didn't meet GOG's extremely high quality standards.

i'm sorry to say dude but... you did not try 'everything'

you forgot 'bout cloud gaming !

link your ubi account with amazon's luna , couple your system to nvidia's cloud based subscription and forget 'bout that new system you build, it just works ....

2d time now this week.......
If a big AAA game should be here and it isn't, it's usually because there's a devpub decisionmaker that hasn't approved it yet because they're pro-DRM or haven't been convinced yet and may never be. And if you look at the money and influence these devpub companies make compared to GOG, you'll know who has all the leverage in such a business relationship.

For the cases of proven, popular AAA games, there's no reason why GOG would be the bottleneck in getting this to happen.

I don't think AC Odyssey can be regarded as an old game!
By the way, the only Assassin's Creed available here is the original first (reissue) and I'd really like to see.. Assassin's Creed 2 (probably among the best entries) in GOG's catalogue. Odyssey (without all the previous episodes?) is not so iconic and probably the publisher doesn't want to sell it here

AC 3 and Black Flag are kinda classics and has been roughly 10 years since they were out, so it's reasonable.

Ubisoft doesn't want to play ball anymore - for moronic reasons already pointed out in earlier posts - and release ANYTHING on GOG, either from their back catalogue or recent line-up of titles.
