Any rumours/info on Days Gone being released here soon?
This question / problem has been solved by kai2image
IIRC the latest official news was that it would be released "later" on Gog (i.e. still officially announced here), peoples supposed it would be like Horizon Zero Dawn and be released a couple of month after Steam.
Well, Horizon is free on PSN, I see they're trying to make a buck or two here and on other platforms.
I wouldn't be surprised to see that happening with Days Gone as well.

If Days Gone PC is coming to GOG, then they better do something about the privacy nightmare that this game supposedly is on data-collecting & all.

Was prepared to mock this and then read the article and holy shit, it even scans your unrelated folders for all contents. Wow.

Thanks for the heads-up. Another one crossed off the list.
Sony's explanation on the matter sure sounds strange. Collecting data and especially from unrelated folders? Ha, firewall that thing and watch it fail in communicating with the home servers. Fun times, I'll tell you hwat. Personally I would not touch it anyway, I can live just fine without it. It's a shame they have to resort to such tactics though. To the blacklist it goes.
Looked at this gameplay Nothing really inspiring!

Yeah, played it for a bit. It looks nice, all works well. It just doesn’t feel like there is any point to it. Sure there are the usual open world copy paste missions, but even the main stories don’t seem to be going anywhere. It’s all a bit meh. Struggling to get the will to play it more. I suppose you can compare it to max max, it has a lot nicer scenery (max max is just brown on brown never ending), and max max had the awful races with rubber banded enemies. But other than that mad max wins on most levels. It’s not a bad game, it just doesn’t have any wow about any of it, seen it done it.

what ? arent you inspired by yet another zombie game?
whats wrong with people...
Gameplay-wise Days Gone is much better than The Last of Us. Story-wise Days Gone is lacking in comparison to The Last of Us. In the end...

... Days Gone is an ok game that could have been seen as great (or "very good")... if it had come out earlier in the PS4's lifecycle. IMHO a large part of the mediocre response to the game was zombie fatigue over Day's Gone's quality..

With that said...

... no game (or software) is worth intrusion into your computer's non-game related files. I already had a nightmare with Adobe Creative Cloud!

Although I'd be surprised if Steam, Galaxy, and others aren't already knocking about in our hard drives...?

Yikes, yes. I don’t see the appeal of the last of us. Spend hours creeping around liners levels trying not to make any noise. Boring. Days gone is better than that. Can’t remember anything about the last of us story, played it on PS4 for a few hours before stopping.

Everything is intruding nowadays, you cannot do anything without it being “smart” or connected to the internet, and it’s increasing rapidly. Yes, galaxy is on every machine, it’s in most offline installers now. As much as a virus as any other “client”.
This reminds me of the Sony CDs rootkit scandal : https://web.archive.org/web/20150317040653/http://blogs.technet.com/b/markrussinovich/archive/2005/10/31/sony-rootkits-and-digital-rights-management-gone-too-far.aspx

I'm not a big fan of open world checklist games but I played through Horizon anyway for the cool world and story. Zombie fighting bikers just doesn't do it for me in the same way. Maybe on GOG in a sale someday...

Last of Us is less open world and more stealth right? Hope we get those on PC, that's more up my alley.

Yes, The Last of Us is linear with somewhat open levels.

The entire game (The Last of Us) is stealth...

.. but...

... even that gameplay is "broken" IMO.

Why do I say this?

During almost the entire game you will be escorting Ellie to various locations, but while this is happening -- in the middle of tense hide-and-seek scenarios -- Ellie will walk right in front of enemies and they won't react at all to her. She's a non-entity.

Granted, this happens in a number of games -- the player character being visible or not is the only "trigger" for stealth -- but in a game that's all about hiding (stealth) from what are essentially bandits and "zombies," Ellie's walking around in "full view" completely destroys any immersion I had.

IMHO the only reason to play The Last of Us is the story (and characters as vehicle for that story). If you don't play games primarily for the story (if you play primarily for gameplay), I'd suggest foregoing The Last of Us... but then I'm not a big fan of Naughty Dog.

To those interest in Days Gone:

Do know that the story ends on a cliffhanger (I have heard this... but have not finished the game myself) and Sony didn't green light a sequel. In fact Bend Studios has moved on to other projects.
