When attacking North Vandea (Space Marine base) the game crash to desktop 30 seconds after I get the Second Obective "Capture the Orbital Relay". Happens every time.

So far I tried:

LAA patcher
Lower graphics settings
Internal gpu and external gpu (playing on laptop with egpu)
replaying level and trying to attack different strategic points

Another user on reddit had the exact same problem.

Any help would be much appreciated!
We discuss the issue here:
https://www.gog.com/forum/warhammer_40000_dawn_of_war/constant_captial_mission_crashing_dark_crusade

but I suppose you've already checked that out.
I'm sorry but I can't offer any help, since the LAA patch effectively solved the problem for me. I have no idea why it shouldn't work for you as well. I hope someone else can shed some light on the issue.

Thanks! No I had not seen it before. I wonder if this is something that can be fixed with a mod, by gog or sega?
I only experience it at the Orbital Relay mission and nowhere else, so I can still play the rest (so far at least..)

I also installed modmanager which confirms the LAA patch is active.

So it seems to be a very specific bug, triggered by a particular event. I assume you have already managed to conquer at least two other strongholds, and the cutscenes played without problem... is that so? And what about the Commander screen? Can you access it?
Unfortunately, in my one and only playthrough of the game so far, I didn't have the chance to sample that specific map, since the Space Marines had already been defeated by another faction. Now I wonder what would happen if I tried to play it... it might even turn out that I have the same bug.
Just to make things clear: the game just crashes to desktop, without any error message?

Right, so it did happen again, this time at the end of the cut scene when defeating the orcs (bomb finished exploding). Skipping the cut-scene with esc solved it though!

For info I had another bug on this level, one of the orc-leaders (not the fat one) got stuck close to one of my strategic points and I was unable to kill him. When his life bar was empty he just did not die. He still attacked though, but leaving him solved that problem.

Ill keep on playing ..

I found out a solution that worked (for me, anyway, could be different on your end).

Set the darkcrusade.exe to compatibility mode and switch it down to Windows XP.

When I did this, it worked and the scripted cutscene played correctly.
