skeletonbow: That's weird as I asked someone why Darksiders 1 wasn't available anywhere even on Steam a few weeks ago and they told me it was a console-only game. If I read your post correctly you're suggesting that there was a PC version before? Hopefully the new game comes to GOG.
U wot m8?

Grargar: Needless to say, everyone who is interested remotely in the 1st Darksiders should consider buying it before October 25th, as the original version might vanish from stores, just like the original version of Darksiders 2 did.
Thanks for the heads-up! Though I'm not too sure what's best at this point: getting the original Darksiders just in case it gets pulled, or just buying the two remakes to have some consistency.

Well, there's also a third option: simply not buying them because they're not providing the option to go with the originals . . . but it sucks because I like 3D platformers and I've never finished the first game.

The first Darksiders game was released for Windows in 2010. It's even available on GOG.

Sweet info; I will hold on diving in to this franchise for this upgrade, hopefully free or at low cost for me, owning the original game.

Backlog, oh you!

omega64: You're thinking of The Darkness. :p
Hmm, I'd have to dig up the thread but it's possible you might be right.

Edit: Yes indeed all 3 of you were right. Too many "dark<something>" games. :)

Grargar: PC

I mean, Darksiders is one of those ''heeeeey it's coming to Linux, hooray!" and now it's "well, steamdb didn't get a single update in 18 months. But the port IS coming... right? Riiiightey? Huh?" ;P

No idea. It was supposed to be ported by the same guy who also did Painkiller: Hell and Damnation's Linux port, but there haven't been any further news yet.

Darksiders will be discounted by 75% till Friday. This might be the last time that this particular version is being sold as, come October 25, the original Darksiders might meet the fate of the original Darksiders 2 and stop being sold in stores.

sounds like to me that they wont be giving any discounts to the new remaster
Buying it day 1! Nordic i love you! First, you gifted me Deathinitive for free, Second you listened to the feedback and provided fixes, third you gave us ALL dlc, even the once inaccessible ones!

Can't wait for the remaster, i owe you at least that much, buying your game! All the more, should you keep in mind to activate in the remaster, the inaccessible DLC/extra content that the original game's, collector edition had: Death's Unique Scythe (much stronger than the normal one Vulgrim sells)!

Gimme, gimme, shut up and take my money, please!!! Quick, quick, can't wait!!!
Seems like the remast-errr... Warmastered Edition has been delayed.
http://www.pcgamer.com/darksiders-warmastered-edition-delayed/

New release date is now 22 November for consoles and 29 November for the PC.
Can't wait!

Yeah, I'd be pretty happy if the Darksiders port to Linux was finally released someday, remastered or not.

High hopes in here, too!
Just warning peeps you better get the original while you still can, Warmastered comes out in 5 days. They may remove it like they did with Darksiders 2 when the Deathenitive Ed came out and that seemed to have shipped with lots of technical issues.
