Update: The release date has been pushed back to November 29th.
Nordic has announced a new version of the 1st Darksiders. What will it bring to the table? The following:
PS4, Xbox One and Wii U versions of Darksiders (Wrath of War)
•Native 1080p rendering resolution for console platforms
•4k support and additional video options for PC
•Doubled all the texture resolutions
•Rendering improvements and rework
•Better shadow rendering quality
•Post processing effects
•60 FPS in moment to moment gameplay (PS4, Xbox One, PC, 30 for WiiU)
The new version is set to release on November 29th and it will have the same price, more or less, as the original one ($/€19.99 and £14.99).
I never really liked the original port of Darksiders for running terribly even on PCs which vastly exceeded recommended requirements and I would welcome a better version. Having said that, I'm wary about Nordic's result with the PC version of Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition (on the positive side, it doesn't seem like Gunfire Games is involved in this one).
Needless to say, everyone who is interested remotely in the 1st Darksiders should consider buying it before November 29th, as the original version might vanish from stores, just like the original version of Darksiders 2 did.
