I'm a little confused.
I can buy Darksiders 2 and gift it but it says I can't buy Darksider 2s DLC or Darksiders and gift it in my area?

Not sure why any are not available to gift to someone in my area but it's even stranger that one of them it is possible to gift it.

Not just your area, restrictions everywhere and for more than just those 2 games. No one knows exactly why though.

From the staff weeks announcement thread.

It is not just Russian Federation then that is getting many games disabled for gifting. Victor Vran, Pillars of Eternity, Shadowrun Hong Kong, Witcher 3, Trine 3, Divinity Original Sin, Darksiders, all disabled.

Nope, it seems to be worldwide.

Suddenly, worldwide gifting restrictions have been added to a lot of games with a base price of $20+ like Divinity: Original Sin, Metro 2033 Redux, Victor Vran, Wasteland 2, etc. As for being able to buy Darksiders 2, but not its DLC, I guess it will be probably be "fixed" soon.

Another feature of gog?
2 weeks ago one of the blues told up we are going to see big changes in upcoming days.
Well, for now these new changes are not amusing to me!

Considering what's brought this on by buying cheap keys from areas and gifting them to other areas for a hefty profit or lower cost... One of the big things as i recall Steam trying to deal with it, is if you buy it in Russia, the game's language is Russia only, and you can only activate/play it while connected via a Russian ISP connection...

Simply refusing to let you buy/gift is a simpler solution, considering GoG gives you access to all languages, and DRM-free too... Not amusing, but if it works then great...
Well considering the UK prices are normally among, if not the most expensive I find it strange for gifting to be locked from this region.
I can see what you mean if people in a region where games are a lot cheaper are buying them and then gift-selling them to the UK or Germany and making a profit.

Obviously! Because, those new changes here, are like the old, established steam customs/trends!
At what stage are you seeing this message? I'm in the UK, tried taking the Darksiders 2 DLC pack to the checkout and didn't see that notice.

Of course, it could be a borked GeoIP database or something causing us to see different results.

Edit: disregard, I just didn't spot it. I was looking at the highlighted message above about it needing to be a gift order since I own the game.

Region locked games on gog because regional pricing was not enough?
I have no problem with region locked games but if the games bought in greece has only greek or a game gifted from france has only french then it's time for me to search for another DRM-Free option (at present I can only think of Humble Bundle).

This was not the DRM-Free revolution that I signed up for.

I think that doesn't quite qualify here... It's merely not letting you gift certain DLC/Games the same with the Witcher 3 with rejected keys due to stolen credit cards, and eventually temporarily suspending gifting of the game to deal with the problem.

As for the language limitation, i was referring to on steam, not here on GoG... Here on GoG i've always seen all language options (as far as i can tell), although i'm not sure how censoring works if you bought Bloodrayne in Germany and play the english version...

I'm sure when things calm down, or when the sale is over gifting the DLC will work fine, in the meantime if you wanted the game for yourself, just buy the game...
You can send your thank-you note to G2A.
