Lexor: I had this topic "bookmarked" since its start but I managed to get Darkest Dungeon only a few weeks ago.

The first reason I'm posting here is: I have base game and two official DLCs but I'm playing without any DLCs at this moment and I can confirm that the current version of the game (build 21142) is very playable and is one of the top games I've ever played.

The second reason I'm posting here (which is more important to me) is: What saddens me the most is the content of the official GOG's Darkest Dungeon forum - yes, it has some topics but in general it is a desert (or maybe I should use the word wasteland) as most of the posts are about bugs, issues and crashes... Where are the posts about tips, tactics and strategies?

I would gladly take part in such discussions so I encourage everyone above and other players to share his/her experiences and knowledge on aforementioned forum. It's a shame that such great game does not have "proper" backup in GOG's community. Let's change this and bring DD's subforum to life. :)
This game has haunted me for long.
I absolutely love the art style, the soundtrack, even gameplay from the videos I have watched. But what has kept me from buying is is the impression of the game being too hard and/or unfair at times.

Also can someone tell me whether is it possible to grind on easier stages with new recruits to level them up?

You can play on lower level to level up new recruits but some will refuse to join your group if the level is too high or low for them. I have too heard some think the game can be unfair, never been my experience. Every time it went bad was because I took a high risk, also you learn after a while what type of group work well together and what fits your playstyle.
