miroslav87: Darkened Skye. Will this game ever be on GOG ?
Darkened Skye is one of these Ad-Games (like "Moorhuhn"or "Cool Spot").

Here's a quote from its wiki: "Licensing: The magic system is based on the use of Skittles candy."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darkened_Skye

So to answer your question: most probably not.

This is true, but it's notable because the developers really didn't want to make an advergame, so the protagonists constantly take the piss out of the whole concept. It's a pretty bad game all round, but the sheer amount of fourth-wall breaking snark is highly enjoyable.

Unfortunately, whether it's an ironic advergame or not doesn't matter. We would still need the Mars candy people to sign off on it. I would love to play it myself but I just don't see them ever giving the OK to re-release it. Maybe if it had a huge following, they would see the potential for a bit of profit but I can't see that happening. Then again I I didn't see the release of Warcraft and Diablo on GOG ever happening either, so I guess never say never.

Why don't they just ask for 15% of profits before tax or something

I don't pretend to know why a rights holder wouldn't do something that is pure profit for them. The game is already made, and GOG does the work to make it function on modern systems. Any sales they get are basically free money, but they probably just don't see a video game made over 15 years ago to be worth the money they would get from re-releasing it. Makes no sense to me, but then I'm not a billionaire executive.
